Ticket #74421 Public

Displaying a maximum number events within a calendar window

I have my events calendar (preview) displaying on my sidebar area, as well as on a full page of regional events. What I’m wondering is if my homepage preview (and/or the calendar on the regional events page) could display up to a maximum number of events, such as ten, before the user would need to scroll down to see more events. I don’t know if this functionality is already built in or not, but if it were to get too long on my homepage, things would get much too long.

you could use the events list extended addon which will show the next 10 events (regardless of the month) http://www.myeventon.com/addons/event-lists-extended/

or you can try the basic events list you get in the eventon core and try this shortcode

      [add_eventon_list number_of_months=”1″ event_count=”10″ show_limit=”yes” show_limit_redir=”https://northinfocus.com/event-directory/” accord=”yes” hide_empty_months=”yes”]

this will show the next 10 events this month with a load more button that will redirect to the events page

the limitation of the above is that when there are less than 10 events it will show less events (so it wont always show 10 events) the events list extended addon will always show 10 events regardless of what month it is in.

Question 1) Where do you insert the short code? I placed in the “add your own custom styles” area, but it had no effect.

Question 2) If I purchase the add on, how does the user load more? is there a button, or does it allow the user to scroll?

      Hello,

      1. Put it to EventON Shortcode Executor (ESE) widget.

      2. User need to press Show More Events button under Events List. You can try our addons here: http://dev.myeventon.com/. I’ve made an example for you: http://dev.myeventon.com/21214-2/

I’ve purchased the add on, now I have no idea how to put it to use. It is active and installed.

      I got it working

I did make a change to your events page to have the next 12 months load on that page I hope you don’t mind it makes more sense to load them at that point, but you can easily change it back

Please check out the video- on what I did to accomplish it- it goes into how to edit the widget and how to edit the events page
