Hi there,
I’m using the EventON plugin on a site with Elementor and having quite a strange problem with the two.
My issue is that I can’t seem to be able to open and edit a page in Elementor that has a /events/ permalink.
So if the page is www.domain.com/events/ then Elementor will not open this page.
I have tested and troubleshooted this quite well I think. When I deactivate the EventON plugin, I can again open /events/ page in Elementor.
If I change the permalink of the page some something like /my-events/ for example, again I can open the page with Elementor without any problems.
Could this be some kind of /events/ permalink conflict here with Elementor?
Thanks,
Jan

Unfortunately, the only possible solution is to use a different link.
More info: If the /events page does not work due to theme/plugin conflicts, create a new page, call it “Events Directory” Insert eventon shortcode and use that as your main events page which will have a URL ending like /events-directory. This would be a perfect solution if you have conflicts with /events slug.
Hi there,
Thanks for your reply.
Is this something that could be looked into and fixed in the upcoming releases of EventON?
It’s not really a solution to have to choose a different slug, because /events causes issues.
I’m in the spot that I don’t really have an alternative word for it other then “events” .
I don’t really want to call it ‘event-directory’, nor ‘event-list’, not even ‘our-events’. Just “events”.
Is there something that could be done about it in the future?
Thanks
Thank you for your messages, I am going to assign this ticket to Ashan and he will be able to take it from here and find you a solution. Please allow some time for him to get back to you, we greatly appreciate your patience and thank you for being a eventon customer!
Hello Jan, so we did some tests on our dev site because you didnt provide login to your site. and we found out that disabling woocommrce actually made elementor work not eventON.
So please try that and if its not the issue for you Send us wp-admin and we can look into your issue.
Hi Ashan,
Many thanks for looking into this. I appreciate that.
I’ve done some testing here on my end, but nope, it doesn’t seem to be Woocommerce that causes the issue for me.
So I’ll look into this a bit further over the weekend and do a bit more testing and will report back.
Thanks, Jan
Sounds good jan. Strange it was woocommerce that triggered it for us 🙂 let us know what you find out.
We need to address this. It’s the same for me.
I’ve spent $$$ on this eventon plugin only to have an absolute need to use /events because promotional material is pointing to that link. Now, I find out that it’s been hijacked by eventON.
I’ve made a ticket, but want to make this know that I absolutely positively need this altered.
It’s not good enough to tell the client I have to use a different URL. With so many options included in EventON I find it absolutely crazy to have this problem and my boss is not happy with me and frankly doesn’t care about my excuses trying to tell them a plugin is not allowing me to use this URL.
I have the EventON tickets plugin which needs woocommerce and anyway, I can confirm that this was an issue before woocommerce was installed.
Ben if you have created a ticekt we will follow up with you via that.
