How to hide past events from Google Search indexing

I would like to know which setting I use to prevent Google from indexing events that have past already? I only want it to display upcoming events in search results. I see that I can hide past events from the front end calendar, will this prevent Google from seeing them as well or must they be deleted?

  Hello,
  
  The only option in EventON is to move them to trash. Please go to EventON > enable Auto move events to trash when the event date is past.
  
  Please also check this https://wordpress.org/plugins/redirection/ or similar plugin to redirect Past events to 404.
