I recently installed BuddyBoss theme and platform on a website, on which I already had EventOn and a handful of EventOn extensions installed and working. Everything continued to work fine except for Countdown. It seems to go into some kind of loop: Days000Hours00Minutes00Seconds00Days000Hours00Minutes00Seconds00Days000Hours00Minutes00Seconds00…
Oct 19,2020 AT 3:52PM - 3 years ago -Hello,
As the theme is not our product, we are not familiar with it or how it has been coded.
So, please contact theme’s developer and ask them for their support instead.
Thank You
Thank you. But I am sure you realise that BuddyBoss could equally say ‘The plugin is not our product, we are not familiar with it or how it has been coded.’ While they did not say it so abruptly, they did in fact ask me to contact the plugin’s develop and ask for their support.
I have had plugin conflicts with another developer, WisdmLabs, who provide plugins for LearnDash LMS. Instead of dismissing the request they engaged, and in two instances provided php code that resolved the ‘conflict’.
I wonder whether you may be able to see whether there is some low-hanging solution to this problem with Countdown, or at least point me in the right direction? Thank you.
Hello,
Can we check wp-admin?
Please send us wp-admin access to your site as a private message for us to further assist your situation.
Thank you for your response and help. Yes I’m happy to provide wp-admin access. I will message you privately with that information now.
It seems that js scripts aren’t loaded for Countdown. Are you sure that the problem is in the theme? Could you please try the instructions mentioned in this documentation?
It is not the BuddyBoss theme, it appears, but the BuddyBoss *platform*. (I had mentioned both in the first message.) The BuddyBoss platform is a fork off of BuddyPress.
I have sent a message to the BuddyBoss support, informing them about the js scripts not loading, and asking if they might have some insight as to what is preventing it. I will update you with what they come back with. I am hopeful that, with a bit of help from each side, this can be resolved. Thank you.
So when you disable BuddyBoss Platform, Countdown starts working?
Great! Please keep us updated.
Yes, when disabling BuddyBoss Platform (not “Pro”, but the regular platform), Countdown works.
I will update you of course. But please, if you have any sense why the JS scripts might not load when BuddyPress (the basis of BuddyBoss) is called, this will help the BuddyBoss people. Conversely, perhaps you might be able to think of a workaround (or an improvement to the code) of Countdown that does not lead to this strange repetition of the numbers which I showed above.
Hi,
We will check further after we have some feedback, so we can see what is wrong
Hello. I’m still having the same problem.
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide support for issues caused by their-party themes or plugins. As they are not our products, we are unaware of how they have been programmed or how it is supposed to work. As such, we recommend you to contact the plugin developer and ask them for their assistance in solving the problem. Let us know if you need help with anything else.
