TimeZone Error and Feature Event Error

Good morning,
With Release 3.0.1 I have the following 2 issues for Event with ID 72834 as an example.
1) TimeZone: The proposed Time Zones you show me are wrong: Luxembourg is in Time Zone GMT+1 and not GMT+2 as shown in the event.
2) Featured Event: When activating the *Feature Event” button then save the event, everything is ok. Next time you edit the Event, the “Featured Event” button is set to inactive again.

Thanks for checking this, especially the TimeZone topic is urgent.
Kind regards
JJ

      Good morning,

      I have an additional issue:

The above mentioned Event is declared as VIRTUAL Event. I have created a ZOOM meeting with the API what worked fine. However the Access Link to the conference is NOT shown in the Event card. How is this possible.

I herewith send you an official complaint as I have many issues with the upgrade starting Release 3.0.  Time is money for all of us, actually I loose a lot of time with your tool ! This must become more robust and more reliable ! I cannot run a full non-regression test with each upgrade you deliver !

can you update to 3.0.2 (Just came out) and test – it fixes some issues

Automatic updates is a one click for me on my site with no issues- and also the test sites  its never going to be possible to make it work on the thousands of themes and plugin combinations but we do have staff here 24/7 to help make the process easier

so for now update to 3.0.2 (sorry) it should simply be from your plugins site if you have activated eventon

and then get back to us if the issue percists

      Hello,

      1. Thank you for your messages, I am going to assign this ticket to Ashan and he will be able to take it from here and find you a solution. Please allow some time for him to get back to you, we greatly appreciate your patience and thank you for being a eventon customer! Also please disable any IP blocking on your site if there are any.

      2. Please try this solution from our main developer: “kindly try clearing cache in your browser. It may be due to the browser not loading the new javascript files to load correct codes for toggle button animations.”

      Hello Artem,

      1. OK for me, as I wanted to use this new feature and even wanted to buy the RSVP addon to enable people to book this event. It is on November 7, i.e. there is some urgency behind.
      2. I cleared cache, no change, same behaviour:
        1. TimeZone is wrong (Lux is not GMT+2)
        2. Virtual Event: not visible for people to see the ZOOM Link
        3. Featured Event button is being switched off with each Update of the event

      2. I enabled https://harmonie-eilereng.com/cms/wp-admin/admin.php?page=eventon#evcal_004b > VIRTUAL EVENT DETAILS so now it’s visible

      3. Contacted Ashan about this as well.

We do NOT require you to update to latest versions the moment we release them. We do much tests before we release them, and deemed fit to go to public. When we find issues we fix them and release minor updates as soon as we can.

If updates break halt your operations, might I suggest implementing a clone version of your live site where you can test updates without interruptions to live operations, and once you confirm no issues on clone version, more those updates to live version.

      1. So what we are finding out is that the difference is the daylight savings time. We are going to implement a better solution for this. Please use appropriate GMT number for the moment, that best represent the correct time zone for you.

      2. looks like this was solved.

      3. here is the patch fix for this, let us know if you have trouble applying this.

      Hi Ashan,

Many thanks for your feedback regarding my Complaint.  As I was working for more 30+ years as Software developer in Finance industry I have a slightly different approach of Releases. When we decided to go productive with a Release it was tested through all the different steps: IT testing, business testing, non-regression testing. We never published Beta Releases.

You approach to publish a new major version and make the user community find the bugs is not a very good approach. If you would like to go for such a scenario I suggest to create a user-community and offer them Beta testing of new major Releases.

      Not everybody has :

      a) enough Hosting capacity to duplicate Web-Sites

      b) does not want to have DOUBLE invest in license costs….. (we are a non-profit organization and cannot buy 2 licences just for running any tests)

      c) time for doing those things…. a customer must rely on stable and robust delivery of paid software.

Don’t take my comments wrong, it’s a view of things and here I just publish my feelings from a customer point of view.

Many thanks for the Bug fix, I applied it on the corresponding php file and everything is working fine.

      Many thanks for that.

Should we keep the ticket open till the TimeZone issue is solved?  (BTW: I had the same behaviour in ZOOM application but it was solved one day later without an intervention of myself)

      Hey Jean,

No need, we have already worked on it so we can close the ticket and we can get further on the release notification 🙂
