I am setting permissions for users to allow them to create and submit for review their own events. I have run into a few issues.
1) What permissions are required to have the user be able to select event categories? Right now, when editing the event, the categories are not displayed. When they quick-edit the event, those fields are locked.
2) What permissions are required to have the user be able to edit locations. Right now they can add a location from the event page, but they cannot edit it (the option does not appear from the Events menu on the left in WordPress).
3) Same question as 3, but for organizers.
Thanks,
Dana

Are you also using action user addon as that will allow others to post their own events
Thank you for the email and Key
Action User addon is how you would get contributors and other user roles to add/edit events.
https://www.myeventon.com/addons/action-user/
eventon by itself doesn’t allow non admins to edit/add events
Will this allow them to use the normal back-end to create/maintain their own events or do we also have to setup a front-end page for them to use? I really don’t want to have a separate front end page if I can avoid it.
Hi Dana,
Thanks for the additional info.
If you are looking to modify the permissions on the backend, you can use a user role editing plugin and assign the following permissions to your contributors:
I hope this helps!
Exactly what I was looking for. Does exactly what I was looking for.
