Please indicate whether this EventOn is good to create zoom meetings? I installed your plugin and created a ‘virtual online event’ with ZOOM method. I am getting en error ‘Required Information Missing to Enable Virtual Events!’. That error in that area of the page, and also when I go to the button ‘create zoom meeting’, I choose a future date but alway get this error message in that dialog box: ‘Could not update with zoom. Make sure your event is schedule in future.’
Please help and let me know all documentation to create properly this zoom meetings. Thank You!!!
I need to buy 2 more licenses and, if I need to, please indicate what good extensions/addons you have related to zoom so I can integrate it. I don’t care about cost, I just need to know the right plugin you have to make zoom works GREAT for me. Thanks!
Victor
May 1,2021 AT 9:07AM - 3 years ago -IN myeventon>>>>settings>>>>>API- you need to add your API Into the eventon settings in order for the events to be created with zoom
(alternatively you simply paste the URL into the field if you don’t want to use the API)
we are developing walkthrough videos (I am) just right now I can barely talk- not covid just the flu) but as soon as I get over it I’ll be making walkthrough videos
See attached. The API was successfully setup using the plugin ‘Zoom Meeting’, see next image:
https://limebayattamarac3.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/API-connected-to-Plugin-Zoom-Meeting.png
and also I added the same API for myEventon (Setting Page/Third Party APIs/Zoom)
https://limebayattamarac3.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Same-API-connected-to-myEventon.png – see next image:
All this was done before I sent you the question on my ticket. So, I am really asking the same question twice because I think you misunderstood my question. My API was always setup and up and running with Zoom Meeting and added to MyEventon. Now, the error I see are the following images:
I still you may need to provide documentation on how to setup zoom meetings with eventon. I am very excited about you having this feature on your plugin, SO CONVENIENT! But unfortunately right now it is not working for me and I think it is due to some settings. So I need your help.
Additional Related Questions:
After the eventon zoom meeting is created, is there a button to ‘Start Meeting‘ just like the plugin Zoom Meeting has it? They have 3 options, ‘Start Meeting, Join Meeting, and Start via Browser‘ but if I setup the meeting with eventon how I kick off the meeting so everyone else join to it?
Please send us wp-admin access to your site as a private message for us to further assist your situation.
could be a conflict with the zoom API going to 2 plugins (we never tested with the zoom API going to 2 different plugins- we added some code to allow the google maps API to be used by 2 programs so I am also going to bring Ashan the creator into this ticket so he can diagnose the issue more effectively.
I’ll be creating some HOW TO videos with the zoom integration (once the conflict is over its very easy to set up and there will be a button to launch the zoom.
I don’t know what plugin ‘zoom meeting’ is
with eventon basic we have worked to get the API inside eventon without the need for any other plugin
we have noticed your date picker doesn’t work when selecting a date in the zoom set up so Ashan the boss will look into that to diagnose and then fix that issue (He works Mon to fri USA time)
Although the zoom date picker wasn’t working I was able to get an event up https://limebayattamarac3.com/events/eventon-test/ you can see the basics.
(if you like virtual events play around with the jitsi integration- that embeds the virtual event onto the event itself (Jitsi is an open source designed to be played in browser no need for an API and no need for app downloads. great for public events
anyway back to zoom
So you would start the meeting from the event page itself- and that event page is what you would promote to your users/members
we have integrated the tickets addon into the zoom events so you can sell tickets to your zoom events- and the zoom info is hidden until they buy a ticket, same with the RSVP addon (for free events) The confirmation of purchase emails contain the zoom info
we also worked on the timezone switcher allowing you to view the date and time in your own timezone so that can expand your audience to other timezones/countries
My voice is gone at the moment otherwise I would have pumped out a video explaining everything the first time you asked.
when you mention zoom meeting- do you mean this Video Conferencing with Zoom
from what I can see you probably wont need it
eventon can do most of that plus its a calendar of events so its more organised, You are not creating posts, you are creating events for an event calendar- the zoom info is on that calendar
Zoom in the browser is dreadful at the moment- so once that is better we will work it into eventon but as it currently stands zoom in browser is not good quality so we opted for jitsi embded.
Zoom app is the way to go you have more options
I think there is some datepicker UI overridding going on from what we use but, the date picker work fine for me.
perhaps try clearing cache on website and if possible on server level?
Ashan,
Please send me a link to all documentation to create a zoom meeting with eventon from beginning to end.
also, I have a plugin ‘Google calendar in my website and also I want to know if I can connect to Google calendar to show it on the front end so I can kill that plugin and stay fully with eventon. Or perhaps one of your addons do that??
Hi,
We do not have a link but a nice idea, we will work on it!
Thank u for the feedback
What about the Google calendar capabilities? I have a calendar shown on one of my websites, see a little down right the page and see the Google calendar displayed (https://limebayattamarac3.com/), the one that says May 2021 as a header. My customer is very familiar with Google calendar and I wan to keep the option of showing his calendar on the front page. But I asked you if you support that or have an addon that does that. Please respond.
At one point we had a 1 directional sync addon which would pull events from google calendar & Facebook into your eventon calendar – however it was 1 directional- it didn’t send events from eventon to google cal. (you would have had to manually send it from each event)
After Facebook changed their API no one bought the plugin and we discontinued it because no one was really using it. and it was only 1 directional. and we wanted to develop other things (we have a small team of developers)
it would require customization to have a bi directional sync between eventon and google cal unless you can find a third party plugin that does it (might be one around)
You can send us a customization job request by creating a new ticket in here and selecting Customization Request as the category.
here is the documentation we have for zoom. https://docs.myeventon.com/documentations/how-to-find-zoom-api-keys/
And the video tutorial for that https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cr-Z-I_INTs&list=PLj0uAR9EylGrROSEOpT6WuL_ZkRgEIhLq&index=4&t=2s&ab_channel=EventON
Ok, so no way to populate my eventon events page with my Google calendar events/appointments ?
If that is the case, can I have the Google calendar plugin living together with your plugins without creating conflicts????
please provide a link to the google calendar plaugin so we can check it out and see if they both work
The google calendar plugin is https://simplecalendar.io/
Hi,
if you sync the events properly, then this should work just fine
eventon events are ajde_events post types and that should not intefere with other event post types in your website.
there is bunch of API erros on your page.
try this
Great help! Thank you! it works nice now.
I will keep reading your documentation and come back here if I have any other question. LOVE YOUR PLUGIN!
BTW, your site has an SSL issue and I can not load the page unless I load it HTTP and not HTTPS
I am getting Ashan to sort out the https issue he might be asleeep right now
1.- I am still having issues with creating the zoom meetings. I get the same error even though I cleared the cache. It bothers me that when this site gets ready to launch this feature my customer who will handle this application for his zoom meetings he will have the same problems I have. No good. I need you to get to the bottom of it either telling me what I am doing wrong or fixing it. See attached.
2.- When the zoom meeting ID gets created, HOW the creator of the zoom meeting gets to START the meeting from the interface of this plugin. I hope you wont tell me he has to go through the normal process of opening the browser, enter the zoom url, and start the meeting. I am expecting something more sophisticated, as your plugin is, to allow the creator of the meeting to START the meeting by the clicking of a button eventhough after that zoom app takes over.
Please note our staff do not work during weekend and any questions asked right before weekend or during weekend will not be answered until our staff returns. We appreciate your understanding!
This has been answered on your last ticket- please keep it to one ticket future
please update to latest version 3.1.6 https://docs.myeventon.com/documentations/eventon-changelog/ which will resolve the zoom issues caused by date picker not saving the time correctly for zoom.
