Restrict to certain email addresses in Action User

My question is if it is possible to setup so using the Action User plugin, can we restrict submissions to only have a certain email addresses than in one domain?

Example, I am doing a submission for a university website and they want to only accept submissions where the emails are from their domain. It will cut down on submissions they woulnd’t approve and this way they aren’t forcing people to create accounts.

Is this something than can be done in the options or possibly with a custom field?

Thanks!

      Hello,

Unfortunately, EventON doesn’t have such functionality. However, you could go to EventON Settings > Action User > enable Allow only logged-in users to submit events. Now you can restrict who can login to your website through WP’s.

      Ok

      So from the documentation:

      https://docs.myeventon.com/documentations/add-additional-fields-actionuser-event-submission-form/

Can it only be used to add yes/no buttons?  Can it be text field?

      Thank you

you could use custom meta data

      myeventon>>>>settings>>>>custom meta data

      actiavte one- line of text

then in myeventon>>>>settings>>>>>event card data- make sure its turned off

then in your action user form there will be a field that they type their email address into

but wont trigger any email sending its just a field and you would have to manually publish there events

theres no way even with the documentation to only accept from a certain type of email.

if you had a membership website where you can create more user roles then you could restrict the form to a user role you give people with that particular email address

Ok thank you for the clarification.  The idea is to avoid having people registering just to submit an an event as it will lead to hundreds of accounts being created and never used again.  Just adding more steps for the user who might then not want to submit anything because of the extra steps and then more works for the site admin to clear out the dead accounts.

      Thank you anyways.

      heres a brainstorm:

possibly use https://wordpress.org/plugins/expire-users/ after a set period of time it takes an action- don’t know never played with it

you could sell event submitions https://www.myeventon.com/addons/action-user-plus/

and then provide those with the right email address a woocomerce coupon code to submit for free

      see this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/press-permit-core/
      specifically feature 3
you could hide a page with the submit form for anyone except a group of people you desire
      untested but good to investigate

also: https://wordpress.org/plugins/restrict-usernames-emails-characters/    read up on that

i will say i have not tested any of these- rewad reviews before installing make sure its safe to do so
