I would like to set the Events Status to Sold Out without having to purchase the Tickets addon, as tickets for our events are usually sold by the venues and not by us. Is there any way to do this? Thanks!

The only way is to use Event Status:
Please check and let me know.
Cancelled isn’t the same as “Sold Out”. Cancelled means that the event was terminated – could be for poor ticket sales, or a Covid outbreak, or any other reason, none of them with a positive connotation. “Sold Out” indicates the event was so popular, demand couldn’t keep up with supply, a much more positive association.
This isn’t just a matter of semantics, it’s literally a different meaning. That being said, do you all have plans to address this? This is a showstopper for us. If there’s no way to work around it, we’ll have to find another calendar solution, which I really would like to avoid considering all the time and money I’ve put into integrating EventON into our site.
Thanks for any assistance you can provide.
You could go to EventON Settings > Language > General Calendar > replace Cancelled with Sold Out.
Following up on this, I wanted the same thing, an option to mark an event as Sold Out. Doing some online research, I found that the reason it isn’t an option is because of Schema and the only event statuses available are the one’s provided. https://schema.org/EventStatusType
Sold Out schema only applies to something that has a quantity to sell out, which is why it is only available with the Tickets Addon. https://schema.org/ItemAvailability
Postponed and Rescheduled seem to be identical in purpose, so I will probably take Artem’s above advice and change one of them to Cancelled in the Language settings. Or probably Moved Online, as I have no use for that status, and that still implies the event will happen, but you can’t physically go to it.
Having a Sold Out option among these choices would be 10 times better, but that would break current Schema rules, so I understand why it is not here. Thanks!
Hello Marc Baugh,
Thank you very much!
