ICS hour adjustment

We have a calendar that is coming in via ICS and it is showing accurately, however, we need the start times to be four hours earlier for both end and start. Is there a way we could custom code this? Unfortunately, we cannot have them do this as all the other tools they use have an option to adjust hours +4 hours.

      Hello,

Could you go to EventON > Time Settings > adjust time with “Custom eventon only time offset value (in minutes)”?

Yes, it is set to -240 (as it is four hours off)

Also, I’m getting errors too… Any ideas on why this would be happening? Is there a log to view?

This is because of enabled “Enable duplication event name check during importing”. Some events cannot be imported because they are already exist.

however, we need the start times to be four hours earlier for both end and start
Try going to https://www.forkunion.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=evoics > change Event processing timezone method to the one that is 4 hours earlier > import events with the time needed.

Yeah still not working. I’ve done the following:

      1. turned off “enable duplication event name check during importing”
      2. changed event processing timezone method to one that is 4 hours earlyier (-240 minutes)

      Please help.

I’m importing now as drafts, as the school is watching and I need this fixed.

All drafts can be deleted and re-imported if you need to test. Right now they are all showing as 8pm. BUT I have an offset of -240 minutes. So the 8pm start times should be 4pm

      See attachment.

“Custom eventon only time offset value (in minutes)” isn’t going to work in your case, unfortunately.

Before the import, you need to “Try going to https://www.forkunion.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=evoics > change Event processing timezone method to the one that is 4 hours earlier > import events with the time needed.“.

Ok this is very frustrating. I’ve tried all three different import events:

      • None, provided timezone from ics file
      • WordPress timezone
      • UTC timezone

ALL of them import the same way. They are all importing the timezone from the ICS file which is four hours ahead (they use greenwich time and all other apps they use they can offset if needed).

Why isn’t the “custom eventon only time offset value (in minutes)” not working?

This add on is broken if you cannot import and offset.

      Could you try the following:

      1. Download the .ics file.

      2. Open it and change X-WR-TIMEZONE:UTC to the one that is 4 hours earlier. More info https://stackoverflow.com/questions/35645402/how-to-specify-timezone-in-ics-file-which-will-work-efficiently-with-google-outl

      3. Import it with “Import Method: Manual import by uploading ICS File”.

Why isn’t the “custom eventon only time offset value (in minutes)” not working?

This is for Calendar GoogleCal on Even Card.

Could you send us the edited .ics file?

    • springs19 Apr 18,2022 AT 7:32AM - Posted 2 years ago - #275758

      Please see attached .ics file.

We know the times are ZULU and that is the issue, but we just need to offset by -4 hours.

Try add this to the file:

Also make sure to select “Event processing timezone method: None, provided timezone from ics file” in EventON > ICS Import.

But that will not synch daily?… we need it to synch via ICS plugin as there will be many updates to this calendar (new events).

    • Artem Apr 19,2022 AT 2:04AM - Posted 2 years ago - #275812

Unfortunately, what you are trying to achieve cannot be done by schedule, only by manually updating the .ics file.

    • springs19 Apr 19,2022 AT 4:54AM - Posted 2 years ago - #275835

so what is the point of ICS sync? We need this functionality for the calendar.

if the X-WR-TIMEZONE:America/New_York is added to the .ics feed will the daily sync work?

It seems to be working for me. Please take a look at this message:

Since you want events to be imported in a different timezone, you need to include it in the .ics file.
