What are the correct settings for Action User – Notify admin upon new event submission? All emails for Apple, Google and private server go directly to spam/archive folders. I added the from email address into contacts and marked them “not spam”, but nothing helps. How do I get this fixed?
Mar 26,2024 AT 1:31PM - 8 months ago -Hello,
I don’t think this is related to Action User or EventON, I am afraid.
When you directly send an email from @readingpubliclibrary.com, does it go to spam as well?
I took emails from “Email address to send notification. (eg. you@domain.com)” and added them to our site and submitted an event. Could you check if the email also went to the spam folder?
Yes, it looks like 2 and they both went straight to spam.
Thank you for your messages, I am going to assign this ticket to Ashan and he will be able to take it from here and find you a solution. Please allow some time for him to get back to you, we greatly appreciate your patience and thank you for being a eventon customer! Also please disable any IP blocking on your site if there are any.
Just checking to see if any progress has been made with this. Thanks.
Still working on the issue. We are sorry for the delay.
So we have been testing. And in gmail, if you get the email in spam folder. You get this option to “Report not spam” and once you click that the admin notification email comes to inbox next time with no issues.
Are you able to try something similar on your mail clients?
It’s not even showing up anymore. Do I have the settings right? Is that the problem?
There are new versions of EventON and Action User are available. Could you update?
To update eventon to latest version: If you are unable to do autoupdate, you can go to codecanyon your account > download and get the latest eventon version as zip file. Then you can go to your website > make sure “Delete eventon settings & data when EventON is uninstalled” is Deslected from eventon settings, delete old eventon, install new one and activate. This link will further explain the process it. Also you can follow us on twitter to get real-time announcements on updates!
To update eventon addons: You can download latest eventon addons from myeventon > my account. Then you can go to your website, deactivate old addon and install new one and activate then delete the old addon. This link will further explain the process. Also you can follow us on twitter to get real-time announcements on updates!
I just performed the updates for both.
With latest versions are you not getting anything?
Settings should look something like this. with Notify admin upon new event submission turned on.
That looks fine. I wonder if the to and from both having same domain might be causing an issue.. is it possible to try a different domain email?
I just switched the sending email to a different address. I’ll see if that works.
Perfect! Please keep us updated.
Still go right to spam even though I mark them not spam.
Brad I which email client are you using? I wonder if its a problem with the mail client? if an address is marked as NOT spam and still get sent there, makes me think must be a fault in the mail clients filtering system…
Is it possible to switch to another mail client and try?
I use Apple Mail day-to-day, but I also checked it on the web in gmail.
Any other thoughts?
Brad I am not an expert in mail clients. But don’t you think if you tell the mail client this is not a spam email, it should put it in inbox?
I know with google’s gmail you can add inbox filters so if email with certain address move it directly to main inbox.
Perhaps you can create a gmail account and use that email and try out?
I’m not either, but I have a google address that I am recieving the notifications to and marked them as not spam and set up actions to keep/move those emails to the inbox – And it doesn’t do it. I do get other email from the sending addresses that I have tried and they com through to my inbox – just for some reason the ones from coming from the plugin notifications do not. I don’t know what to do at this point except give up on it.
I have done aq bit of research into emails and spam
things that effect emails going into spam:
1: content of the email
2: domain name of the email
3: sending and recieving from the same email address (sending to yourself try sending from noreply@
4:reputation of domain name is a big one
5:shared server reputation if the email is coming from a server that is shared and is known for dodgy websites this will effect the email
6: sending from a wordpress website- yep can be a problem
what I don’t see on your website is an SMTP plugin which changes the way emails are sent and changes it from being a wordpress email to the smtp settings you use- theres plenty of free ones out there on the repository
also check
there may be a word that is simply sending it to jusnk even if you have allowed the email adfdress
Could you try updating EventON to 4.6.8?
Next please install and configure SMPT plugin and try to send emails again:
