How do I set up a subscription to a unique event, rather than a whole calendar?

I have a calendar with over 50 recurring events. I want to add new, one-off events that users can register interest in before bookings go live. BUt I don't want users notified when events they are not interested in are updated.

I have the EventOn plugin and Subscriber add-on, but I haven't been able to get this to work.

Each time I subscribe to an event, all subscribers receive an email if any changes are made to any event in the entire calendar.

How can I set up registration to specific, unique events (not whole calendars)?
