It should work completely fine. You can go back to EventON 2.6.15 and then update again but with my suggestions below.

Before update you need to enable EventON > Do not delete eventon settings & data when EventON is uninstalled option. Or you can use FTP Method.

Update guide:

To update eventon to latest version: If you are unable to do autoupdate, you can go to codecanyon your account > download and get the latest eventon version as zip file. Then you can go to your website, deactivate old eventon, activate (Do not delete eventon settings & data when EventON is uninstalled) from eventon settings, delete old eventon, install new one and activate. Could you please update EventON to 2.6.16 and RSVP add-on to 2.6.3 and check again?

Morning Ashish, I’m just waiting on WordPress realising there’s a new version of the main Eventon plugin. I’d rather not go down the manual update route just yet. As soon as we’ve updated and I’ve cleared cache and checked I’ll come back to you.

Could you replace this file in actionUser folder ../ includes/admin and clear cache? It should resolve the issue. We will include this fix in the next update.

Do those modifications survive when Actionuser is updated?

Yes. Because custom code and files go to your theme’s folder. So you need to use a child theme in order to save any customization after theme update.

http://cbdanforth.com/events/ uses EventON’s default archive template and http://cbdanforth.com/calendar/ your theme’s.

Please also try this PROTIP: If the /events page does not work due to theme/plugin conflicts, create a new page, call it “Events Directory” Insert eventon shortcode and use that as your main events page which will have a URL ending like /events-directory. This would be a perfect solution if you have conflicts with /events slug.
