Tried on dev2 using Checkin page http://dev2.myeventon.com/checkin-test/?id=14924-14923-14922T0 and it worked correctly:

They are using Scanner Gun https://www.littleowlfarmpark.co.uk/wp-admin/admin.php?page=eventon#eventon_qr, maybe that’s the problem.

Yes, it supposed to work that way. Could you please tell us what does “greyed out” mean? Are you referring to Edit Event > Hide End Time from calendar option?
