Even with added 1 to event_type, it still shows all events available. However, on our test site it works correctly. 

Could you please try the instructions mentioned in this documentation to make sure your issue is indeed coming from eventon.

After I logged-in it keeps redirecting me to /login page.

As for the issue, could you make sure that you are using Event Lists: Ext shortcode and not the basic one.

Next please make sure that you use double quotes in the shortcode.

Now on the page you selected please change EventON shortcodes.

Unfortunately, Action User add-on has limited functionality comparing to the back-end options, so some featured aren’t available at the moment.
