Many thanks – I believe this solved my initial issue, and I am very happy!

I do have two additional Qs that came up as I was doing my due diligence in testing the fix (neither are as urgent):

A.  Using the new Short Code generator to produce a calendar view option on my class schedules page, the [add_eventon_sv] works fine, but when I tried to use the new Short Code generator and selected options to show location info [add_eventon_sv show_location=”yes” etc_override=”yes”], it didn’t show location even though the events had a location designated.

B. Checking on my front page, where I had a side-bar widget (what now I see has the term of ‘legacy widget’) for the EventOn calendar on the front page – it use to show a mini-sized full calendar and then have active events listed below.  Now this legacy one keeps looking like it’s trying to reload something.  In trying to clean this up – When I tried to add the widget again using the new Short Code generator, it produces the Month name and list under for the current month March (no highlighted mini-full calendar view) but doesn’t find any events when I switch to the previous month, February. (Is this just how this now operates?  Or is there something not right?)

Please advise at your convenience!

(And again – many thanks!)

I think it important to figure out why the schedual view is loading slow before purchasing more addons

see video on adding day and time

Hi

I had installed W3 Total Cache, so I re-installed / activated it again today.

This is what I notice:

The first a user goes to the page, it takes > 30 seconds to load.

If the user closes the browser, and re-opens the browser, and goes to that page again, the page is load almost instantly, due to caching.

Good so far.

However, if the user then clicks on the “next month” (e.g. April), the April page takes > 30 seconds to load.

If the user then clicks on the previous month (i.e. back to March), the page takes > 30 seconds to load.

Also, since my calendar is only meant to display the current/upcoming events, and not past events, my guess is that if a user cmes back to the page on, say, March 10th, it will fast load, but will still have March 9th events from the cache.

So, caching seems good for pages that do not have dynamic content.

It does NOT work for my calendar page.

I cannot expect the user to wait for all those  events to load.

Also, I have only programmed ion about one third of the events that I need to remember, so in the end, the page will take more than 1 minute to load.

In conclusion, I can’t see how this plug can work for me, for the use I want to put it to.

Any further thoughts? Is there something I am missing?

(I logged out of my WordPress account, I waited quite a long time, and then I tested the page in Chrome, and in Edge, on different PCs, and also on my iPhone)

I’ll assign ashan to this to figure out why

the schedual view loads slow

but the main cal loads fast and the fact you can switch to the schedual view is faster than simply loading the schedual which is odd

Thank you for your great suggestion, at the moment it is not supported. However please create a new ticket and select Feature Request as category so others can vote on your idea and get it moved into development faster.
