The video was helpful. Thank you for your time and help.
in the past I have seen people create a button in their widget area with a pop up or model window
so the button says search events with a magnifying glass icon- when clicked it opens a pop up
they then add this shortcode to the pop up window
[add_eventon_search number_of_months=”12″ ux_val=”4a”]
that will do the search and then open the event in a new window
depends on your page builder if you can create pop ups
there is a toggle to remove repeating events option
we can hide things like no end time with css
you can add the button with pop up where you can add the shortcode so if your menu builder allows to add shortcodes to fields it can work- I use xtheme pro and you can do that but I am unsure on other editors
we can use css to hide lon/lat
a non logged in user, it will save the address
some people use a (can’t remember the name) hide content unless the do a re-capture
so you have your add your event button or form- on a page and when you visit the page theres a re-capture- once thats filled out the form appears or the pop up button appears
thats the danger of allowing anyone to submit events
personally I would have them log in to submit- this gives you more freedom as you can giving each individual user rules- so you could make all subscribers be able to submit events and add images
but for one of them you stop them from adding an image as they always upload rude images for example- or you could ban that user for a week
where as if anyone can submit you have zero control
