Can’t this be simply overwritten in the specific file? Just change 6 months to 2 months in the code? I would just need to know where so I can change it myself and update with every update … I imagine posting Feature request will take a long while to implement ….

The best solution is to use Contact Form 7 or similar. Just add it to Event Details or use Custom Meta fields (Multiple Lines of text):
