ok, yes, adminstrator rights does provide the user with the front end edit icon. HOWEVER this is not a solution for us. And I see this as a bug, not a feature request. This is critical for us – is there any way to get this looked at right away? thank you.
I’m not sure what the difference is. I just created a new user and it seems to be working fine. I can just use the new user I created. Thank you for taking a look at it for me.

Please follow the instructions in this documentation to activate debug in your site to see any PHP errors recorded that can provide insight on to whats going on. Please reply with a link to debug.log file. If you are not able to do this please send us FTP access to your site so we can do this for you.
