Could you please try the instructions mentioned in this documentation to make sure your issue is indeed coming from eventon.
One last thing
those events on the home page- because we have sped up the loading you might be able to get them as a pop up instead of going to the single event page- I can do that if you want- test it out see if it loads just as fast (if you are after a pop up)

Or go to EventON > EventTop > EventTop Main Day block fields > enable Event Day Name or any other you like.
We are going to include the fix to the next version.

Thanks for getting back to me. I’m glad this is a known issue and will be getting a fix. Our Festival is at the end of the month, so hopefully the next version will be released by then.
Thanks. That worked. Still, one question is: why do we always have to do the manual update? deactivating, deleting, downloading, installing, activating. Isn’t there a way to fix this?
Update: I cannot “delete” the shortcode. When I remove it and click “update” I get an error message stating “There was an error. The response is not a valid JSON response.” And the removal of the paragraph containing the shortcode does not occur.
