my customers are able to add events in the front end form – no problem.
i want my customers to be able to edit their own events without having to login and and see the wp backend.
when i am logged in as an admin i can see all events in the front end, but how do i set it up so that they can edit their own ones?

tick “allow front end editing”
and when the owner logs into the site- where you put the shortcode to view their events there will be an edit button and when clicked it brings up a pop up edit form from the front end
