Typical event:

Is it possible to display both the full dates in the date fields in the full view of an event? I may have missed a setting!?!

Apr 23,2017 AT 12:51AM - 3 years ago -you have a very old version of eventon- in the latest version 2.5.2 there is the option of setting the way times are displayed in myeventon>>>>settings>>>>time settings
so update to the latest build and if you have issues doing it let us know
you probably want to add something like this into the event F j, Y
but this page will help you select the right combination of letters once you update
https://codex.wordpress.org/Formatting_Date_and_Time
If you are unable to do autoupdate, you can go to codecanyon your account > download and get the latest eventon version as zip file. Then you can go to your website, deactivate old eventon install new one and activate and delete old eventon. In order to update eventon to latest version. This link further explains it.
Hi Dave!
I was nervous to upgrade EventOn because our current WP version is not current.
I now have several issues:
I hope you can help me!
Many thanks
Peter
yes single events is now part of the core plugin so you should deactivate the single event plugin if you have it as it will break the calendar if both are activated
social media icons work now (they needed to be turned on)
maps will work when you add long/lat to the events- so edit the event and then edit location and fill in the long/latti fields- there is a link underneath the log/lat fields that help you with this
3 day event with different start times- you would put the start times in the event details area (there is currently no way to do this)
events open now-I added ux_val=”1″ to the shortcode
I have activated the edit from front end button which only ADMIN can see- to the right of the event title is a pencil icon- click this to edit the event (opens in a new window) this makes it easier to edit events such as adding log/lat for the maps to work instead of trying to find events in the backend
Thanks for the reply!
Social Media icons: I want to add a section title… how do I do that?
Maps: This is very disappointing. The earlier version worked flawlessly with an accurate address, and no Lat/Long. This is effectively a downgrade for me and several extra steps. NOT GOOD.
I still want to enter an address that is recognized by Google Maps. Will a Google Maps API work? Do you have a quick way to get exact Lat/Long of an address? The link provided requires too many steps.
Feature suggestion: if we have to use Lat/Long, suggest a single field with a comma separator. If you use https://www.gps-coordinates.net/, that format is supported, so that you only need to copy and paste one field.
Looking forward to your feedback, especially about auto generated LatLong.
for future events you should simply add the right address and eventon will auto add the long/lat in when you publish the event
from your previous version to the new one- google made some changes and we had to change the way locations were handled- I myself had 150 events to modify the locations 1 by 1 but it seems that you have gone in and done it yourself
but for future events if you add the right address- the long/lat should be auto calculated and added- or if there is a past event- you can simply change the title of the location by adding an extra space (edit event- edit location add an extra space or change a – to :: and then save the location and you will see the long/lat appear (I hope that made sense)
Excellent. Thanks for the detailed instructions.
Best
Peter

If you have a moment, we would greatly appreciate if you could kindly leave us a review at codecanyon! from your account > downloads. Cheers!
Will do!
Thanks for the great help.
