Ticket #199904 Public [Closed]

AddOn Speakers & Schedule issue: Won't display correct Schedule Blocks Dates.

Hello there. We have a workshop that lasts 8 weeks. Every week we have a 2-hour live Zoom call.

We’ve created the event from Friday, October 23rd to Friday, December 11th.

We then created the agenda for the event, using the Speakers & Schedule addon.

Day 1 is the 1st Friday. Day 2 is the 2nd Friday. Day 3 is the 3rd Friday and so on.

When adding the schedule blocks everything works great, it allows us to put the right date for the block and choose an alternative day for each block (1 to 8).

But when the event displays, the first 6 of the dates are displayed incorrectly and only the last 2 correctly.

Funny thing is that each Day’s tooltip is correct! I recorded the screen and created an animated gif from it so you can see the issue clearly. Take a look at it here: https://i.ibb.co/fSqmVtM/Event-On-Issue.gif

Thanks for your help in advance. Ricardo.

      Hey Ricardo,

Is it possible for us to see the live web site please?

    • By: Ricardo Jimenez Oct 10,2020 AT 7:03PM - Posted 3 years ago - #199917

Yes sure, I’m sure I put it in the Ticket form, but here it is again:

Please also note that for the first 6 days, the date is 1 day before the start of the event.

Please send us wp-admin access to your site as a private message for us to further assist your situation.

To clarify: when editing the event- it is set up how you want it

but the front end isn’t showing correctly

so when we get in there and see the edit event- thats how it is supposed to be? or is it not saving right?

      It is not saving right.

I’ve tried many times to re-edit the dates and it won’t work.

      I’ll send you wp-admin access

Did you change the dates and times at one point?

as in you created an event- had the speaker schedual and then perhaps edited the dates, added in more dates?- doing that with the schedule can cause problems sometimes

      Hello!

I duplicated the event from an old one ane edit it. The previous event (when we were doing it offline) lasted only 2 days, and the schedule reflected that.

      I think I have a free regular “duplicate” plug-in to duplicate posts/pages.

In this new one (a copy from the old at-our-office event now to be virtual) I initially had doubts as to how to model this new event format (that spans over 2 months) so I started with an event with no dates. Then I edited the agenda but realized I could not add more days when the event has no end-date. So I added an end date and then I proceed to edit the schedule for this new event format.

      Could this be it?

      *  so I started with an event with no END dates

      while you wait for ashan

can you create a new event (not duplicate) create it from scratch

and set the start and end dates and click sAVE

then do your schedule and click save- and see what happens

In the past on my own site- I created a 1 day event and added a schedule- then made it a 2 day event and I have issues, so it could be simply – make the event from scratch might fix the issue you are currently having (and we can then address this issue in future versions)

Ok. Will try and report back.

In the meantime, what is your supported way to duplicate events? Do you have a plug-in for that? Did I miss some functionality in the plug-ins I might already have?

Or also for the schedule. AFAIK there is no way to copy the schedule from another event, so you always have to manually input it.

      Hello there.

I didn’t work. I created a new event from scratch.

      Here is the result: https://synchronicity.global/events/taller-equipos-de-alto-desempeno-nivel-1-octdec2020/

It still has the dates issue, a bit different but all the same issue.

      Hey Richardo,

You download the plugin from the staging and u upload it to the live!

      It should be working properly

    • By: Ricardo Jimenez Oct 14,2020 AT 2:24PM - Posted 3 years ago - #200397

Thank you very much. Already did it and it’s working. Thanks!

Any ETA on when the new version of the plug-in will be released?

When updating the plug-in, should I assume that the next version will fix this or what suggestion could you give me on how to handle the updates for this plug-in? I don’t want to lose this fix.

      Thanks!

Yes the next version will have that update. We are working on eventON 3.0 and hoping to refresh some styles for speakers and schedule view on eventcard as well to go along with the new eventON 3.0 so the next update to speakers will be after new eventON is released, maybe 🙂
