Ticket #29675 Public

Cancelling a single occurrence of a repeated event.

  • I’m in the middle of filling out a client’s calendar and was wondering if there was a way to cancel a single event that is part of a recurringĀ event. If this is not possible I would like to know the best way to fill a full month of recurringĀ events on multiple months. All the details in each event will stay the same, but I still want the ability to toggle individual events as canceled. I would also love the ability to display a list of events that are open at this time. I could build this feature myself but I would need to know where to start, and how to plug into the database the theme is building.

    Thanks

      Which event is it exactly?

Is it a custom repeat event?

Yes it’s a custom event created to display open hours of a location on a schedule.

      Any Ideas?

Please check the screenshot. You can easily delete one instance if it is a custom repeat type.

That’s not what I’m looking for, but thanks for pointing that out. I’m referring to the option in the top right of the window that lets your toggle an event canceled or not. I didn’t know if there was a way to do this on one instance of a custom repeated event.

      Thanks

No sorry It is not possible to make a repeating event cancelled but still show- what you could do (although not really what you are after is create an event for that repeat and then click cancelled but it is not really what you are after

Thank you for this great suggestion, at the moment it is not supported and we are going to move this ticket into feature request so other users can vote for your excellent feature idea and get this move into development!

big problems for a lot of users according to me with repeating events:

      • cannot cancel an event from repeating events
      • subscriber addon: receive new events
      • Rsvp addon: the date is wrong when a user receives the confirmation email
      • Event manager: only one link for all these repeating events

Maybe, the solution will be separate all the repeating events into one single event…
