Hello! When I tried to auto-update my plugin via the WordPress admin panel to 4.6.8, I got the notice, “Update failed, the package could not be installed.” It is unlikely I am out of hosting space, as I just recently deleted several other (large) plugins. I tried downloading the zip file from Code Canyon and replacing the current plugin with the zip file, but that also failed.

Autoupdate isn’t available at the moment.
Please follow:
To update eventon to latest version: If you are unable to do autoupdate, you can go to codecanyon your account > download and get the latest eventon version as zip file. Then you can go to your website > make sure “Delete eventon settings & data when EventON is uninstalled” is Deslected from eventon settings, delete old eventon, install new one and activate. This link will further explain the process it. Also you can follow us on twitter to get real-time announcements on updates!
…and replacing the current plugin with the zip file, but that also failed.
Could you tell us more about the issue? This should work.
Hi Artem, I think I just made the mistake of deactivating but not deleting the old plugin before trying to upload the new one to WordPress (thinking the new would replace it). I was getting an error that said “the package contains no files.” I was able to successfully update via cpanel and everything is working (hooray for the return of the search bar)! Thank you. I will close this ticket.
Hi Taryn,
We are glad your issue is resolved, if you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to create a new ticket.
