Ticket #24656 Public

Categories in filter

I’ve made categories for different calenders. Indeed the categories only show up that I’ve selected for the specific categories. The categories that i didn’t include for the calenders still show up in the filter possibilities even though the calenders don’t include the events.

Is it possible to hide the categories in the filter section which are not selected for the calender?

I dont think you understand correctly the behavior of filters as we have created it.

When no filter values are selected, calendar will show all events.

When a filter value is selected calendar will show only those filtered events. And your image shows filters have no values selected. Obviously when you dont select any values it shows all the events. Does that make sense?

My friend this is the behavior that is supported at the moment. If you dont want to show certain events to users, then you must select the event type categories via the shortcode and hide the filter bar from front-end. So users can not select other filter values and see other events.

As far as I can understand: i think what you are trying to do here is allow them to select only certain event type values out of all possible event types and that is not supported at the moment. So if you have A,B,C,D event types u want to show a calendar with A & C types in calendar and in filters and allow users to choose between A,C filters and not see any other events assigned to B or D. Is that about right?

If you would like we can make that into a feature request and get others to vote on this feature as that is not supported.
