Ticket #211864 Public

Event end date picker should default to same as the event start date

In the “custom repeat times” start/end date control box the “end date” selector used to update to the selected “start date” (this is how the main event start/end date selector works) but now it just stays on the current date. Also, the form should check the start/end dates and warn you if you have an end date selected that is before the start date.

Here is a screenshot, I just selected December 19, 2020 as the custom repeat start date. The end time remains as the primary event end date. The end date should change to the selected start date automatically.

      Hello,

Could you send us a video or multiple screenshots on how we can recreate this issue?

This screenshot https://helpdeskx.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/16095121/Screenshot-2020-12-16-114604.jpg doesn’t show any “custom repeat dates”.

      Here’s a few screenshots.

Two issues the date format changes when you use the date picker. This isn’t a big issue as it doesn’t break anything, but it is kind of weird.

Secondly, I don’t think you should accidentally be able to set the “end date” to a date that is earlier than the “start date”.

      Hello,

Since your last message we’ve updated EventON several times. Could you update to 4.0.2 and check if that fixes the issue?

To update eventon to latest version: If you are unable to do autoupdate, you can go to codecanyon your account > download and get the latest eventon version as zip file. Then you can go to your website, deactivate old eventon, activate (Do not delete eventon settings & data when EventON is uninstalled) from eventon settings, delete old eventon, install new one and activate. This link will further explain the process it. Also you can follow us on twitter to get real-time announcements on updates!

PS EventON 4.0.2 has a slightly different design from the previous major update. Make sure to check it first: https://demo.myeventon.com/

Yes, I already have the latest version. Do you think I didn’t upgrade the version in a year?

You must have a demo version available to you to test before you respond to help desk messages.

Please add custom recurrences to any event and you will see that the date picker for custom recurrences behaves differently than the main primary event date/time picker.

could we have a look at the wp-admin to test from within?

Please send us wp-admin access to your site as a private message for us to further assist your situation.

I think I just got used to the way the date picker works. It still seems weird that you select a event end that is before the start date. Most date pickers I’ve used before will not let you save dates with obvious mistakes in them.

this is how it works on the dev site
