Event Lists: Past and upcoming events together

  • Hello,

I would like to add an Event Lists Extended shortcode to my site. The widget should be displaying past and upcoming events at the same time. For example:

    Jan 01
    Jan 02
    Jan 03
    Jan 04
    Jan 05
    Jan 06

Let’s say today is Jan 03. I would like to display “past 3 days/events” AND “next 6 days/events” in the same widget.

Is this possible? I couldn’t find a way to do this :-/

1 way of doing it is to have 2 calendars on top of each other with event list extended

      1 for past events

      1 for future events

and then you control how many of each appear event_count=”3″ shows 3 events (in the past of future)

      [add_eventon_el el_type=”pe” event_count=”3″ hide_so=”yes” ]

      [add_eventon_el el_type=”ue” event_count=”3″ hide_so=”yes” ]

you can see an example here http://dev2.myeventon.com/daves-test-eventlistex/

to do this in a widget- put a text widget in and copy and paste the shortcode in

if you scroll down the page you will see you can add a title to the past events and leave the future events with no title

      title: Check out our events

The 2 calendars with a title has the shortcode

      [add_eventon_el el_type=”pe” event_count=”3″ hide_so=”yes” el_title=”Check out our events” ]

      [add_eventon_el el_type=”ue” event_count=”3″ hide_so=”yes” ]

replace: “Check out our events” with your own words but you will probably want to keep it brief being a widget

      [add_eventon_el el_type=”pe” event_count=”3″ hide_so=”yes” ]

Isn’t working, because our last entries dated in Dec. So I tried instead:

      [add_eventon_el el_type=”pe” event_count=”7″ number_of_months=”2″ hide_so=”yes” ]
      [add_eventon_el el_type=”ue” event_count=”7″ number_of_months=”2″ hide_so=”yes” ]

This is displaying some data but not in the right order. From the example above I’m getting:

      Jan 02
      Jan 01
      Dec 31
      Jan 03
      Jan 04
      Jan 05

but instead it should be: 01, 02, 03, 04 (in this example: today=03)

Adding “event_order=”ASC” or “DESC” doesn’t change anything: in combination with el_type=”pe” the result is always “newest first, oldest last”.

I’m afraid that’s not possible: it’s an internal website not reachable from the Internet :-/

this works just fine on our end so it would difficult to resolve your case without actually accessing your site. Seems there might be something you are not doing right.

Perhaps you can duplicate your site on to a live domain and give us access
