event tags vs event categories

I understand the difference of tags and categories for wordpress posts.  But I do not understand how they are different in regards to their usage with the event calendar.

Could you provide more information or point me in the right direction?

event tags were something we added as couple of people requested it to be added just so they can display it nothing more.

But event type categories are log more functional in a way that it allow you to filter events based on those category terms and they can also be set to show on eventtop.

But if you propose a desired behavior for event tags we are open to ideas that would make it more functional 🙂

It would be nice to allow the event tags to point to the wordpress archive pages.

In other words, they would function just as they do with wordpress by having a blog archive page associated with it.

I feel this could improve on-site linking and provide better SEO.

      Thank you for the explanation.

Thanks for letting me know your vision. But the issue is tags templates doesnt behave same as event type categories and can not target just event tags for archive pages.

I would really suggest you use event type categories instead of tags for those you can have event archive pages for just one event type category term.
