Ticket #31088 Public

Event tickets addon questions

  1. If I buy event tickets addon, and an user create an event via action user. Will he receive directly the money?
  2. About Paypal third party api, Is there a possibility for each user to put their email paypal to receive the money from paypal when an user pays?

      1: No

      2: possibly

With tickets- woocommerce handles the payment process so the checkout is a woocommerce thing

There are woocommerce extensions that allow you toΒ  set up multiple recipients but if you got those extensions you would have to manually set it for each event- the customer wouldn’t be able to submit a form via action user and automated their email address is used for sales but you could add a form field to the action user to include their paypal address and then you would set that up manually (with the help of the woocommerce extension)

I have played with this one

but could never figure out how to set it up the instructions for setting up multiple people in paypal were horendous and I ended up not using it but if you are smart with API’s and all that perhaps it can help

      Thanks Dave.

I think that woocommerce is not the right thing for Eventon because it uses for selling products and not for events. About event ticket addon, the “add to cart” is not appropriate. Users should book and pay directly.

About paypal api, it could be great to have this system like meetup.com where users set up their email paypal from frontend, and receive money when people rsvp and pay.

Thank you for this great suggestion, at the moment it is not supported and we are going to move this ticket into feature request so other users can vote for your excellent feature idea and get this move into development!

      >>I think that woocommerce is not the right thing for Eventon because it uses for selling products <<

You are incorrect, WC allow for selling digital and virtual items not just tangible items. Tho your needs may differ from others the general consensus is for tickets addon for users to add tickets to cart and then buy them. Not to use it as a booking system. However we are working on a booking system as well for eventon.

And we are also going to be adding compatibility for WC vendor addon in the future once that is done them users will be able to submit events with paypal ad recive money. But those are our future plans – not currently possible.
