events are not dropping off of the calendar once it is past the event date. It is doing this on the event calendar itself and when I list them on the API for displaying on the front page of our website. We are having to delete the events to get them to not show and we dont want to do that, we have never had to do that.

Please send us wp-admin access to your site as a private message for us to further assist your situation.
Also go to EventON > Time Settings > make sure to enable Hide past events for default calendar(s).
Or try adding event_past_future=”future” to the shortcode.
