Events Slug and other issues

Hi

I have a few queries…

Firstly, how do I resolve the issue with using the /events slug? I’m using Divi. It is not an option for me to have anything other than /events as the slug. Please help!

Other questions…

1. How can I switch off all ‘event types’ – i.e. ‘Event Type 1’ and ‘Event Type 2’ I see you can switch off 3, 4 and 5 but can’t see how to switch off 1 and 2. I want to remove these so as not to confuse users.

2. Is it possible to switch off some sections in the ‘Add Event’ page? For example, I will never need the ‘Virtual Event’ section and would like to remove it to make the process smoother for users.

3. How can I make the Find out more/booking link look like a button (like the ‘Learn More’ about the organiser and ‘Other Events’ buttons)?

4. I have set custom text to appear when there are no events in a given month, but how can I make this appear in sentence case (i.e. not all capitals)?

Thank you 🙂

Hi there lets answer these questions

1: YOu can’t unless you had some admin css tweaker than allowed you to hide them from the backend admin menu

see video below for all answers

something like this https://wordpress.org/plugins/admin-css-mu/    should allow you to hide things in the wp-admin probably useful for other plugins you have for example you can increase the size of text on certain plugins for those who have bad eye site etc

theres also a number of plugins that allow controlled access which is more than simply css hiding where the website owner is not an admin they are another user role which have access only to certain things. the developer is the admin but the owner is some other user role. those plugins tend to control the entire plugin and not pieces of each plugin (all of the plugin hidden or none of it hidden) so you could hide eventon settings but not individual pieces of eventon where as the css hidding allows you to fine tune what is hidden and what isn’t within an individual plugin

      Hi Dave

Thank you so much for the really helpful video!

The main issue is the /events page. In short, I want my Events listing page to be at /events but the plugin seems to have created /event-directory The calendar displays correctly on that page, but at /events the header menu is corrupted and I can’t edit the page.

It seems there’s some kind of weird conflict with this plugin – and this is referenced at this previous Helpdesk post but the answer is not publicly shown: https://helpdesk.ashanjay.com/ticket/eventon-possible-conflict-with-elementor-plugin/

One of the answers says: “More info: If the /events page does not work due to theme/plugin conflicts, create a new page, call it “Events Directory” Insert eventon shortcode and use that as your main events page which will have a URL ending like /events-directory. This would be a perfect solution if you have conflicts with /events slug.”

However, this is not a satisfactory answer for me as I want the page to be at /events

Even if I accepted a different page (/event-directory) I can’t disable the /events page and the display is incorrect here, so people may still end up on this broken page.

      Please help!

I’ve deleted the /events page altogether, but it’s still showing up – https://hellbaystaging.littletorside.co.uk/events/

This suggests to me that this page has been auto-created by EventOn but then I can’t edit it (and the header menu is corrupted on this page)

      Hello,

EventON replaces /events template with it’s own. Please take a look at this guide on how to customize it:

      https://docs.myeventon.com/documentations/how-to-customize-events-archive-page/

You cannot just delete the page, but you can use Yoast plugin and redirect /events to any page you like:

      https://yoast.com/features/redirect-manager/

EventON uses it’s own template for /events, so please follow this to fix all 3:

PROTIP: If the /events page does not work due to theme/plugin conflicts, create a new page, call it “Events Directory” Insert eventon shortcode and use that as your main events page which will have a URL ending like /events-directory. This would be a perfect solution if you have conflicts with /events slug.

      Hi Artem

So I can’t manually adjust the layout of this page?

In this case please can I request a refund – the plugin does not meet my requirements

      Thank you

      Tom

Please contact CodeCanyon about the refund.

You can change the page if you use Events Directory page instead of /events.

Thanks – but I want the page to be located at /events for ease of use for site visitors – not /events-directory

Is there no way to achieve this?

You can go to EventON > Events Paging > change EventOn Event Post Slug to events-directory. Now you can use /events for the main page, but all Single Event Pages will be /events-directory/event-name.
