Ticket #25395 Public [Closed]

Front end submission dates missing, events not showing on site search, repeating events

  • We have been having these problems for a few months and we have updated to newest calendar.

    1. When people submit an event their times do not come through even though they enter times. We have submitted events through front end to test it and the event times do not come through
    2. we have a search bar on our site and our calendar events used to show in a site search – now for some reason the calendar events do not show in a site search (they only show when you use the search bar on the  calendar).  We would like the calendar events to show up when people search our search bar on our main page of our website as used to be the case.
    3. When we use the “custom” options for repeated events in the calendar the first entered custom repeated event date does not show up on the calendar.  To work around it we enter the first custom repeated event twice so the it will show once – for example we have to enter
      Jan 29,2017 2 pm   4pm
      Jan 29,2017 2 pm   4pm
      Jan 30,2017 2 pm   4pm
      Feb 2 ,2017 2 pm   4pm
This way Jan 29th will show once.  If we don’t enter the Jan 29th date twice the Jan 29th date will not show in the calendar and the first repeat will be Jan 30.
Also the Daily Repeats still shows as an ADD ON under Licenses even though when you click it – it takes you to a 404 on Eventon’s site.
      Thank you for your help

the events are probably in the backend you would have to go int and edit them to be publish instead of draft (quick edit should do)

      for future events

in myeventon>>>>actionuser you had Submitted event’s default post status as draft

I went in and changed it to publish so future events will be on the calendar

You wrote: the events are probably in the backend you would have to go int and edit them to be publish instead of draft (quick edit should do)

Answer: yes they are in drafts – we have to make sure that the events have the location and dates and times before they are published.  That is my concern – the person submits the event and includes the time but when I go to the drafts to review the event – the times are missing.

      you wrote: for future events

Answer:  We need to approve the event before it goes live – I have changed it back to draft.

Can you please help me with the issues in the original submission above here are the  three issues again:

This way Jan 29th will show once.  If we don’t enter the Jan 29th date twice the Jan 29th date will not show in the calendar and the first repeat will be Jan 30.

Thank you – One Update: we had our programmer fix item #2.   So just items # 1 & #3 – When you log in to our wordpress eventon calendar you will see a 4-H Summer Camp event and it was submitted by a reader – no dates came through.

**Also the Daily Repeats still shows as an ADD ON under Licenses even though when you click it – it takes you to a 404 on Eventon’s site.
**finally just a question – should we be deleting past events – there are over 2700 events and I would like to know if we delete old events if it wills speed up our calender loading time?
        Thank you for your help!

Please send us FTP access to your site as a private message, so we can perform several tests from our end and resolve your issue fast! — date and times work just fine for us so Im not sure if there is another plugin or your theme is interfering in here.

#3. Create evetn with initial time save event and then add the custom repeats.

You bought dailyview license thats why its still showing in there. And this addon has been discontinued as it was added into the main plugin. Deleting old events will def help speed up.

No that has nothing to do with the site speed. But you can try some of these steps to improve the site speed 🙂

      http://www.myeventon.com/documentation/why-my-site-and-eventon-page-loading-slow/

Again really sorry it took this long to find the solution but I am glad we did and hope everything will work smoothly for you from now on.

If you have a moment, we would greatly appreciate if you could kindly leave us a review at codecanyon! from your account > downloads. Cheers!

If you have any further questions or concerns please create a new ticket.
