We would like our events to show when people search Google with the term “Galena Events”. The search results show many other events but not the ones on our website. It appears we need to have some kind of Google event markup language for Google to find these. Is this something we can accomplish with the EventOn plugin?
Many thanks for your help. Craig Raymon

If you want your site listed on google for certain keywords, you will need to do SEO, or pay Google for ranking.
This is not SEO. When you search Google for “galena events”, actual individual events are shown at the top of the page before any actual website results. These are pulled from websites that have calendar events that use the Google event markup language. I have a screen shot showing what I am referring to. It would seem that EventOn has all the info necessary to be included in these event search results.
These event searches work with any city. example “chicago events” displays individual event results above website results. I am sure you would want EventOn to feed these Google searches as it would be an incredibly valuable and powerful feature for the end-user.
Here is what I found from Google

Thank you for your messages, I am going to assign this ticket to Ashan and he will be able to take it from here and find you a solution. Please allow some time for him to get back to you, we greatly appreciate your patience and thank you for being a eventon customer!
Eventon adds various event related Schema data into the event HTML to support specifically this case. Now what google decide to show first or in their list is entirely upto them and you do not have control over that. What we can do is provide them with information of the existence of your events which eventON already is doing.
If you have search bots disabled on your website you would wanna allow search engines to index your site so these schema data will get tracked by search engines and will show on listings.
Cheers!
