How can I disable email notifications?

I am not going to be using the subscribe feature and want to stop sending emails to existing customers. I thought that by disconnecting the Mandrill API, the emails would stop, but apparently they are continuing to send. How can I stop them?

  Our subscription addon is not integrated with Mandrill. Ours is integrated with mailchimp. So, if you want to stop it, you will need to disable it within your mailchimp account.
  
  I see that you are using mandrill plugin by another party. Please contact them and ask them for their support with it.
