How to delete a category I no longer need?

I am using categories 1-5 and now I no longer need category #2. Is there any way to just delete category #2? I tried deleting the text in the field but then it just lists it as ‘event type 2’ everywhere

  Unfortunately, you cannot remove Event Type 2. Please go to EventON > Categories. As you can see you can only remove Event Type 3, 4, 5 and so on.
