I am interested in purchasing the Subscriber ADD-ON, but I would prefer to use a mailing system other than Mailchimp.
From your description it seems that the Subscriber add-on it only integrates with Mailchimp via API, and, instead, it is necessary to export a CSV of the new subscribers to update other mailing software like Mailerlite, Mailpoet, Constant Contact., etc
I need to know if the update of the subscriber with other software can ONLY be done manually exporting the list of subscribers every time. If so, the use of a different software would be a big issue.
I would greatly appreciate a clear and accurate response to my inquiry.

yes you could simply use the subscriber plugin as is and use that (with an smtp plugin) to send the new events to your list of subscribers) (you don’t need to use mailchimp to send)
but if you wanted to use one of the many other email/autoresponder/newsletter systems out there it would require you to download the csv and upload it
