Inhibit RSVP for certain dates (from one day to another)

Hello guys,
is there a way to restrict RSVP for a certain period of time?
We want to close events RSVP from 23rd December till 7th January.
Is there an easy way to do it other then deleting all recurring event items in those dates?

  set the rsvp capacity to 0 for those individual repeats
