Ticket #26084 Public

Inquires via e-mail function not working.

Our inquires via e-mail feature isn’t working, a customer can select the button and then enter their name, email, subsequent question, solve the math confirmation question, then press submit; unfortunately it’s met with an animated graphic that just goes on continuously and the email is never sent.

We’re getting the following debug error:
PHP Fatal error:  Call to undefined method evotx::inquire_fields() in /home/vpreatr/public_html/wp-content/plugins/eventon-tickets/includes/class-ajax.php on line 63

In the event itself we have the ‘Allow customers to submit inquiries” set to YES and we’ve overridden the default email address as well as the default subject, specifically as we have the event name/date set, solely for easier management of e-mail inquires.

Event slug/URL:
https://www.pacifictracktime.com/events/sonoma-raceway-season-opener-2-day-special/

All other e-mail functions work throughout the site and as a test I’ve installed the plug-in ‘Check email’, it performed e-mail tests without any problems.

Thoughts?

      Just released the update http://www.myeventon.com/documentation/changelog-event-tickets/

      Hi Ashan,

      Just downloaded and installed; now my tickets function doesn’t work when attempting to purchase an event which typically involves pressing the ‘Order now’ button, which would normally lead to the variation layout/pricing, after the update, pressing the ‘Order now’ button does nothing.  Returning back to v1.3.8

    • By: VPREATR Jan 31,2017 AT 12:27PM - Posted 5 years ago - #26253

      Rolled back to v1.3.8 and my ‘Order Now’ ability has returned to normal.

      Additionally I noticed that with v1.3.9, if I updated an event, then went into the product, replaced the product image, then pressed update, the update would timeout; not sure if that is related.  In rolling back to v1.3.8, updating the event, then the product function return to normal.

      the image for ticket product MUST be placed in here under event edit page

      Capture

      https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/6620035/evoaddons/TX/class-frontend.php

      replace this file to eventon-tickets/includes/ folder in 1.3.9 version and let me know if that fix the other issue. If not send me FTP and i can take care of that for you 🙂

      Thank you for the code patch!

      As for the ticket image being used by WC as the product image, the problem is I use the same image as the ‘Feature Image’, so it looks odd with two of the same pictures within the event
      card.

      I’ve tried hiding the event image with:

      .evoTX_wc.tximg .evotx_image img {
      display: none !important;
      }

      It appears to hide the event image, although the spacing/formatting of the hidden picture causes layout problems for the my variation pricing/select box, which sits to the left of where the image would normally reside.

      Thoughts?

      I am just about to head out- but if you could send me a link to the single event where this is happening- I may be able to add some padding in- sorry but if one of the other admins jumps in before that please do so- I’ll try to look it over in a couple of hours (sorry work commitments)

    • By: VPREATR Jan 31,2017 AT 8:38PM - Posted 5 years ago - #26321

      Hi Dave,

      Here’s the single event:

      https://www.pacifictracktime.com/events/thunderhill-raceway-park-east-2-day-special-2/

      You’ll see the Event Ticket Image in the tickets section, when I add the above CSS, it removes the image, however it causes a formatting issue with my variation pricing dropdown box (and details).

      Thanks!

      and here as well

      This is the before image:

      (See the change in the ‘Group’ alignment’ when the event ticket is used and then removed via CSS. The placement just seems, well, out of place)

      I am uploading a video

      your screenshot shows the word group to the left of the drop down

      but on my computer (even with the image) it shows it on top

      I am on fire fox- what are you using? I’ll post video as soon as it uploads

      https://www.pacifictracktime.com/wp-admin/customize.php?return=%2Fwp-admin%2Fadmin.php%3Fpage%3Deventon%26tab%3Devcal_3

      >>>>>>additional css

      select#pa_group {
      margin-top: -40px !important;
      }

      .evoTX_wc table.variations td.value select {
      border-radius: 5px;
      margin-left: 65px;
      padding: 4px;
      }

      td, th {
      padding: 8px;
      }

      Hi Dave,

      Here’s the result of those changes (see image)

      Thanks!

      Hi Dave,

      I’m going to pull those changes for the time being (live site) and only one event has the ‘event image’ in place and without the event image, the select box is significantly out of place.

      Also, were you making changes in the Theme CSS or EventON Styling (I saw changes being made to the Theme CSS, hence my curiosity)

      Thank you for all the assistance.

    • By: infotainerdave Jan 31,2017 AT 11:42PM - Posted 5 years ago - #26345

      I did add

      select#pa_group {
      margin-top: -40px !important;
      }

      .evoTX_wc table.variations td.value select {
      border-radius: 5px;
      margin-left: 65px;
      padding: 4px;
      }

      td, th {
      padding: 8px;
      }

      to the theme css to see if it worked and then removed them (they were not working in eventon >>>styles)

      our browsers are showing different display results

    • By: VPREATR Jan 31,2017 AT 11:47PM - Posted 5 years ago - #26349

      These are the changes I noted in EventON Styles:

      .single_variation_wrap.evotx_orderonline_add_cart .single_variation p {
      margin: 0;
      padding: 0 8px 5px;
      }

      .evoTX_wc.tximg .evotx_image img {
      display: none !important;
      }

      <– original CSS –>

      select#pa_group {
      margin-top: -40px !important;
      }

      .evoTX_wc table.variations td.value select {
      border-radius: 5px;
      margin-left: 65px;
      padding: 4px;
      }

      td, th {
      padding: 8px;
      }

      FWIW, I’m using Chrome (latest version) and tested in Firefox  as well, same result as the attached picture.

      Dave,
      Just wanted to say thank you for spending the time working with me, as with all the support both Ashan and you have provided; I’m very appreciative.

      I’m sure we can find a solution to the event ticket image layout as it would solve the issue have having to reset the WC product image each time I update an event.

      Thanks!

      did you fix it?
      https://www.pacifictracktime.com/events/sonoma-raceway-season-opener-2-day-special/

      screenshot is now what I am seeing (which is different than before)

    • By: VPREATR Feb 1,2017 AT 7:02AM - Posted 5 years ago - #26396

      Hi Dave,

      No, all the event ticket image related CSS changes were removed until testing tomorrow, the site is live and not all events have the ticket image, subsequently without the image the CSS code changes have a visually negative effect and I don’ t want to confuse any site consumers.  FWIW, I only added the ticket image to one event for testing purposes.

      The goal of course is to have the variation box fit well within the available space (with the ticket image hidden) and I’m hopeful a solution will be found after a few hours of sleep. 🙂

      It’s unfortunate we can’t simply disable the display of the ticket image , as using the ‘none’ in CSS seems to just hide the image and not prevent the creation of divider/table.

      Thanks!

      Just a quick follow-up, I added the following to the EventON Styles:

      /* Custom CSS to remove ticket image from eventcard – Please don’t change without approval */

      .single_variation_wrap.evotx_orderonline_add_cart .single_variation p {
      margin: 0;
      padding: 0 8px 5px;
      }
      .evoTX_wc.tximg .evotx_image img {
      display: none !important;
      }
      select#pa_group {
      margin-top: -40px !important;
      }
      .evoTX_wc table.variations td.value select {
      border-radius: 5px;
      margin-left: 65px;
      padding: 4px;
      }
      td, th {
      padding: 8px;
      }
      /* End of Custom CSS to remove ticket image from eventcard – Please don’t change without approval */

      and the result was the picture attached (it covers the Group name).

      We dont have the bandwidth to support custom CSS styling issue- I would recommend you follow this guide the css customization guide to further edit style changes.

      Other than that if you have any other questions please let us know.

      Hi Ashan,

      I completely understand and I believe Dave was just trying to assist in finding a solution, it would be nice to have the feature allowing the upload the ticket image (aka WC product image) but not display within the ticket/eventcard, beyond just CSS; that way the layout wouldn’t be impacted when using WooCommerce variations.  I’m hopeful we’ll find a solution that hides the image, but also aligns the WC variation dropdox box in a usable manner using CSS for the time being.

      Thanks!

    • By: Ashan Perera Feb 3,2017 AT 10:12AM - Posted 5 years ago - #26734

      An easier solution you can do at the moment:

      Go to eventon-tickets/includes/class-frontend.php line 425 in latest version and set $_tix_image_id = false;

      That will stop showing the image on eventCard 🙂

    • By: VPREATR Feb 3,2017 AT 3:24PM - Posted 5 years ago - #26757

      Hi Ashan,

      So the following would allow me to add a ticket image (aka WC product image), but that image won’t show in the eventcard/ticket portion, making it only visible in  the ticket admin and as the WC product image?

      // ticket image id – if exists
      // $_tix_image_id = !empty($eventPMV[‘_tix_image_id’])? $eventPMV[‘_tix_image_id’][0]:false;
      // don’t show ticket image in event card by setting ticket image id to false
      $_tix_image_id = false;

      Thanks!

    • By: Ashan Perera Feb 7,2017 AT 10:32AM - Posted 5 years ago - #27138

      That code will stop the image from showing period! I mean make the change you know in the file and see what it does 🙂 thats what I do trial and error will get you where you want :0

      Cheers. Let us know if you have any other questions.
