When trying to rsvp with iphone, mobile safari freezes. No problems with desktops and android…
Had the same issue on version 2.5.1. and it was resolved by updating to 2.5.6. Now it has returned, my guess – with the latest ios update…
Feb 16,2017 AT 2:54PM - 5 years ago -Interesting. It works fine on our sites running latest RSVP version 2.5.7 would you mind sending the FTP access to your site so we can take a peak
Situation is still unresolved. Any ideas how to solve it? Most of our traffic comes from iphones.
Best regards,
We dont work on weekends my friendo, and those FTP info is wrong, send us working FTP please.
Actually the FTP worked but wp-admin doesnt work.
Actually this event http://dev2.myeventon.com/events/rsvp/ is running on RSVP 2.5.7 and it works just fine on iPhone does that event work for you on iPhone?
So did you have any problems on iPhone yourself? or was it always your customers? and do you know when it freezes? Because you said v2.5.6 it worked. and there was no script changes that could effect RSVP behavior in 2.5.7
Do you think a rsvp form that slide down in the event would be a better option that a lightbox? If the lightbox is being stuck
Yes I have problem on my iphone as well. The RSVP ligtbox opens with no problems, all fields also works fine, but mobile safari chrashes at the moment when clicked to RSVP option – Yes.
Its realy strange, updating to v2.5.6 solved the problem, but only for a while – 3 to 4 days. Then the reports from customers returned, while my iPhone was working. Eventually also my iPhone stopped working on v2.5.6 after fiew days. Note that I did not update my iPhone during this period. Its still on v10.1.1. At the time I discovered that there is new RSVP version and updated it to v2.5.7, but at this time it did not fixed the problem.
If RSVP from slide down would fix this problem I would happily do it.
Best regards,
I think there is another plugin or your theme is interfereing in here. Do i have the permission to switch your themes and plugins?
Thanks for your reply.
I did deactivate all plugins one by one and finaly also changed theme. Turns out its X-Theme by Themaco who is interfereing. Any ideas for solution. You have my permission to switch themes and plugins by yourself.
Best regards,
Thank you very much for doing that and finding out the cause. You know in general we dont provide support for 3rd party theme conflicts because there are so many themes and they all do their own thing.
But to shed some light here, it looks like some sort of a mobile script they are running that is causing the issue. Because otherwise it works fine on PC. So I would recommend sending the theme developers a message and see if they know what could be the cause, because its their product and they knows the ins and outs of it more than us 🙂
Please do let us know what you find out.
After long chat with x-theme tis is their final answer:
I can confirm this on my iPad (iOS 10.2), but only once. I checked it with a device with iOS 10.1 and no problem at all. It seems like related to memory leak and specific to OS version. Has issues with 10.2 in iPhone, but it’s not because of the theme. It’s because of the calendar, it requires processing power and cause memory leakage and disabling the theme will, of course, going to free up some of the processing power that requires by the calendar. Try disabling the calendar and it will continue working.
Unfortunately, I can’t find any temporary fix for this. I’ll continue checking but I can’t promise any solution. Seems like your calendar wishes to run alone.
Thanks.
Can you look into it? You have fiew more tickets with similar issue. Was the circumstances the same as mine? Can you check what themes are they running?
As a final solution Im redy to change a theme, but Im not sure this will not repeat with different theme.
OK gonna jump in here
I use this https://wordpress.org/plugins/mobile-smart/ I have a desktop theme called canvas from woothemes.com and I use the mobile smart plugin to switch to strangely enough an xtheme for my mobile users but my plugin makes every mobile phone go to the mobile site (it also allows you to turn off plugins if viewed on a mobile in the pro version)
this one
https://wordpress.org/plugins/any-mobile-theme-switcher/ you may be able to switch themes just for iphones
I am not sure if this will help you- it may in fact end up sending iphone users to the the new theme and not just the individual page
Try what dave said. And of course the theme guys wouldnt say its their fault. 🙂
Lets try this http://www.myeventon.com/documentation/why-my-site-and-eventon-page-loading-slow/
try increasing memory so the site can handle more memory capacity. May be the theme guys are right, but you know iPhones nowadays like super computers they can handle lot of data and bandwidth so i doubt its an issue with memory. For me it seems like there is some special JS script run from the theme that stops any clicking on submit button.
Thanks for advice! Did solution where running different theme on calendar page. This is more like workaround the real issue, but fixes the problem. Hope, they will find this bug in future when more users will encounter this issue.
Best regards,
Yea I mean there is not much we can do you know. If this work for all other themes and not for this one theme, you kind of have to look at this theme as the culprit for the issue. But they seem to think otherwise, so there is no telling if they will proactively do anything about this like how we address bugs in the plugin code as soon as we can.
Cheers!
I am running the ever-popular Divi theme and tried changing to the WordPress default Twenty-Fifteen theme and the problem remains, with a hang when attempting to RSVP (hit yes button in pop-up) from iPhone Safari. This issue is NOT resolved.
Why dont you make a new ticket for your issue since we obviously have come to a common conclusion in here.
