So, what does this mean? And how do i fix it so that google does not see my calendar listings as events or so that they do not hide them from search results
thanks
Jan 17,2019 AT 5:39PM - 6 years ago -Hello,
In order to fix Missing field “location” please go to Edit Event and add Location with the correct Location Address (please check “Orange, NSW” as example). Location Name is not enough to output field “location”.
You can’t fix these warnings: Missing field “offers” and Missing field “performer” because EventON doesn’t have this kind of information. Please also note that these fields are optional.
thanks
so what fields are considered essential to satisfy google? postcode, suburb, state, street?
and with google seeing it as an event, does it treat the event any differently to how it would treat it if it was a page or a post? i am thinking seo, crawl rate, etc
Please check https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/u/0/#url=https%3A%2F%2Fcycledownunder.com%2Frides%2Fthe-bobbin-head-cycle-classic%2F. Google sees EventON’s events as @type Event so it must have date and location in order to show it in Rich Results. That’s why for location it says Error: A value for the location field is required and for offers and performer only Warning.
You can check required properties here https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/event (Structured data type definitions).
okay, i have looked at that and as far as i can tell, listing the name of the town or city is adequate.
so for example, orange, NSW – have i now got enough info in that or do i need to add more? i have just added in location address as ‘orange’, as that was omitted before
thanks
also, the event list (plugin) isn’t showing the location, which means that it is indexing a location error as well!!!! How do you suggest i fix that?
Login info stopped working. Could you please check?

You can add anything but later when people find it in Google Results they will expect the correct information.

Can you please send us a direct link to where the actual issue is happening? In order to fix this issue you need to go to Edit Event > Location > Select or Create one. Every event must have a location assigned according to Google. That’s why it says:
location A value for the location field is required.
this is the page that the event list is appearing on – https://cycledownunder.com/find-a-ride/
i have fixed the locations and google accepts the changes for the events but where the events are in the ‘event list’ it isn’t accepting them.
the login password is in the other request i sent in Ticket #108163
thanks
I cleaned your WP Fastest Cache plugin and now Location fields are visible for Google Tools: https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/u/0/#url=https%3A%2F%2Fcycledownunder.com%2Ffind-a-ride%2F
thank you, it is now allowing me to resubmit – i didn’t even think of resetting the cache!
thanks!
