Pictures all pixelated ?

  • Hi there,

I find that the pictures used on titles look very pixelated for some reason, although they look fine when I open the event in a new popup – any idea what would cause this, do I maybe need to rezise some picture settings in wordpress ?

    See attached picture, http://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/2327369/31a63f026e8c0d3b32562f7b39271ff0

    Best Regards,
    Bastien

      Hi,

The image you are using is smaller than the dimension of the tile. So, the image is getting stretched.

      Use bigger images:

      Hi,

I don’t think it’s the problem. I think I need to change some image size settings in WP somewhere. Because some of the original sized are very big – like http://www.danielpowerdj.com/wp-content/uploads/392795189802918493-done.jpg – which is clearly bigger than the tile yet it still shows pixelated
THis pic is a lot bigger than the tile. How to fix that, how can i find the size of the pictures you use and how to resize it on WP properly ?

OK I have only seen this problem on only a few websites

      try this: in wordpress>>>>>settings>>>>media

and you will see thumbnail size- I believe the problem is caused because it takes that really large image and converts it to that size and then uses that as the tile

Because you have a tall image and it is trying to shrink it to thumbnail and then using that thumbnail size to create the tile dimensions its going to look pixelated
what you could do is the following:

      • find out how big those tiles actually are on your page and create an image with those exact dimensions which will be approx 557px wide by 203px high
      • Possibly set the settings>>>>media thumbnail dimensions to 557px wide by 203px high (you will have to test that out)
      • Use that image as the featured image (which is what the tile uses)
      • Then in your event details field- upload the full sized image so it appears in the similar position (just like adding an image to a normal wordpress page)
      • In myeventon>>>>settings>>>>event card data- turn off display featured image

gotta play around with the settings>>>media>>>>thumbnail  setting to get that right I think
This could work- let us know how you go
