QR scanning with scanner gun is too slow and not practical to use at events on mobile devices

I have had several events now, and the check-in process has been a complete mess.

I am using several high quality scanner guns.

However, on mobile devices, the text input speed is too slow when reading the ticket codes. It goes letter by letter, and then another page needs to load after the ticket code is submitted.

The maximum number of tickets it can process in a minute on a mobile device is 11. And that is if we scan immediately after each ticket.

We have tried with several different mobile devices, including a samsung s21 ultra. So it is certainly a powerful enough mobile device. We have tested via USB tether and also bluetooth.

We have also tested on a laptop, and the text input speed is much quicker, almost instant. But we still need to wait for the page load, an inconvenience which still can’t handle high traffic volume..

If using text input for scanned QR codes on mobile devices are like this, I can’t see how it is a practical ticketing system? It cannot handle large volumes of people at concert events.

Other ticketing platforms that use QR scanning have their own app, and it is an instant check-in experience. Other platforms don’t use the QR code to input a text field character by character.

It seems your solution/method is not practical in the real world.

Surely I am not the first person who has mentioned this? Do you have a solution for this? Or is it the nature of your system and how your platform checks the tickets?

      Additionally, when a ticket is scanned, the ticket information shown is incomplete! It does not display the SECTION of the seat.

      Many venues have the same seat, such as B6, but in different sections. So staff are unable to direct people to the correct section when looking at the ticket confirmation information.

      It is really not well thought out
