In March you will see “Funk Jazz Wednesday” on every Wed for the month… That is Correct
But if you click on say the Mar 15th Event, Event Listing still shows Mar 1st, which could be confusing to customers.
is there a way to have the repeated Events show the Correct Date?Jan 12,2017 AT 2:37PM - 3 years ago -
please post private your website & wp-admin username and password and we will diagnose and give a solution
OK I see what is going on
the problem is that the first event has not transpired as yet- so it will show that event on the single events page- but you will notice at the top you can switch to the next event (under “this is a repeating event”) of course your customers may not know to do this
when you have the event simply drop down see below it will show it better and not be confusing
click on the 15th march
if you need to have a single event for each repeat you may want to create the event for the first date and then duplicate and change the date – this is an ok solution for say 4 events but is a pain if you have 30 events
repeating events should have a URL variables at the end like this
OOOOOOOOOKAY I have the solution (I think)
go here: http://roseconcerts.com/daves-second-test/
and click the 15th of March
this is the shortcode I am using
[add_eventon_list number_of_months=”24″ hide_past=”yes” show_et_ft_img=”no” ]
and I edited the Funk Jazz Wednesday event to user interaction to open event page- and this adds the necessary URL variable to show the 15th
your current event page has
in the shortode which is stuffing it up-
if you have a lot of repeating events – when creating the event in the first place- it is best to set the user interaction to “open event page” (the last option) and this will open the right dated event (gees I hope that made sense) from the calendar
Unfortunately if you want each event to open up in a single events page (when using a lot of repeating events) you need to re-edit the events you currently have and set them to open events page for user interaction
(my advice- put on your favorite music and spend the next 30 minutes editing) then have a scotch afterwards
Its a shame you are not in Australia- I have been looking at your events and they look amazing- I’d love to have those shows here- my local has ABBA tribute bands – its just not the same
Wow.. thanks for all the info… I was sleeping.. lol But im getting ready for work now, and will review all of this today when i get settled in…
Thanks for all the investigating.
Also… Im jealous of Australia because you guys have Spiderbait… and they rarely come to the States… lol
OK. I removed the Shortcode ux_val=”4″ and edited all the events to open the event page… so all is good. The repeated events show the right date 🙂
Thank you for all your Help and your support on the best Event plugin ever.
One question, How did you get the little Edit Pencil to show up on the Event listings Page? I never seen it on there before. Just Curious.
And example of the Edit Pencil I now see
Yes I turned that here (you can turn it off if you want)
only admin can see it– it is an edit event button so from the front end if you need to change something on the event- you can click that button and quickly edit the event- it opens in a new window- I find it easier than finding the event in the backend
