Repeating events that are displayed individually do not always display the Event Over flag.

We are using EventOn list query with a tiled UI. We have a number of repeating events that are shown individually because the show_repeats=”yes” flag is present in the query.

Some of these repeating events correctly display the Event Over flag when the individual event is over but some do not. The only obvious difference I can see between these is that the ones that display the Event Over flag are ticketed events and the ones that do not are not ticketed events.

      Hi Clark,

      Thanks for reaching out.

Just to make sure we are on the same page, kindly explain a bit more what you mean by the events are displaying “Over flag”. Including a screenshot illustrating what you mean will really help.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

      Hello,

“Event Over” is for ticketed events only. For regular events you can go to Edit Event > change Event Status or Event Options > enable Event Completed.

You could change Event Canceled to Event Over by following this guide: https://docs.myeventon.com/documentations/how-to-translate-calendar-front-end/.

Repeat Customizer allows you to complete individual repeats: https://www.myeventon.com/addons/repeat-customizer/

So there’s no ‘solution’ in the standard software? I’m still struggling to understand why ticketed events display an ‘Event Over’ flag but unticketed events do not? Sorry, but I think that whether the event is ticketed or not should make no difference to the behaviour of the Event Over flag.

      thanks

Regular events don’t really need any flags. In most cases people see the date and know if the event is over or not. Also the best solution is to go to EventON Settings > enable Hide past events for default calendar(s) to completely hide past events.

Sorry, i’m still not on board with this 🙂 I totally agree that people are unlikely to click through the list/tile to look at an event that happened in the past thinking they can book a ticket. So, maybe I’m asking the wrong question…… maybe I should be asking why ticketed events need an ‘Event Over’ flag at all??? It’s the inconsistency I don’t like. I agree it’s not going to be easy for you to remove functionality that has been added 🙂

I think I’m going to close this now. I really appreciate your time and patience in talking through the issues around this.

      Thank you 🙂
