RSVP by Username in stead of First and Last Name

The members of my website communicate using nicknames (their username). When registering for events they should be allowed to RSVP by username. Their real names should not be shown for privacy reasons.

Please can you make the use of first name and last name optional, so my members can RSVP by username and show their usernames on the guest list.
