Site runs a lot more slowly with EventOn enabled. Are there options/settnigs to speed it up?

Our member site https://tacomagardenclub.org/ has a member login to access. At the moment, this means that we cannot have caching enabled as that messes up member login/information/account.

On the member's home we have an EventList - [add_eventon_list number_of_months="4" hide_empty_months="yes" hide_past="yes" hide_so="yes"]

This means that access this page takes 6-8 seconds (each page slow to load (I see imap.google loading as I click any page.))

If I disable EventOn plugins everything loads much more quickly.

Are there any settings/setup/configuration that we can use to have things load more quickly?
