Ticket #22446 Public

Social share when it comes to popup windows

Hello guys!

I’m using popup window for “user interaction” and my events are often repeating events.

When someone share on facebook, and someone clicks on it, it goes to the first date I’ve created instead of the next one.

Any solutions? People are so confused ..

Thanks

Did you try debugging your facebook page?

      https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

If it is the same, we will need to make it a feature-request for our future update.

      There is a misunderstanding.

      1. I’ve created an event with “Pop up window” as user interaction
      2. The first date is let’s say 25th oct
      3. They are REPEATING EVENTS
      4. I share this event on Facebook
      5. on Facebook, I click on this event and it goes to the event the 25th oct
      6. But today it’s 9th JAN
      7. So, the event doesn’t show the following event

      Does it make sense?

      Thanks

Yes, and did you test by debugging as I mentioned earlier?

We may have to make it a feature-request for future update.

It’s not related about debugging facebook.

It’s about when a repeating event as popup window is shared on facebook, when people click on the link, it’s not directed to the next date of the event but the first date.

Please can you tag ashan of this to find a solution.

      Thanks

It doesn’t matter. I’ll go for single event page now. Thanks

I tested with single event, and it is the same!

      1. With single event as user interaction, when I have a repeating event and I want to share on Facebook, the date is wrong.
      2. Plus the eventop disapears (screenshot)

I have the latest version of eventon 2.4.10

      No more single event addon

      Tested on dev.myeventon.com

sorry tested with POPUP EVENT and not single event

So I guess that the popup window event has no links, that’s why..

Nakata can you please share a link to where I can see this happening?

Also when I create a repeating event the single event page should show buttons to switch to the next repeat of the event

      Capture

And repeating events should have a URL variables at the end like this

      http://localhost/WP/events/pop-up-event/?ri=1

      Capture

I hate the bootstrap themes crap sometimes.. but yea thats why your eventtop is not showing.

I will look into lightbox share not passing the RI value.

Thank you Ashan. It’s weird because that is the only event happening like this..

so What do I have to do?

      @media (min-width: 1200px)
      [class*=”span”] {float: none;}   ??
About lightbox share, I think it’s because there are not a specific address, so that’s why..but now I changed for single event.

can you provide wp-admin username and password and post private

or is it working for you now?

    • By: Ashan Perera Jan 16,2017 AT 10:08AM - Posted 5 years ago - #23578

Yea its just applying those styles. We usually dont provide support for styles conflicts caused by other stuff, and you know this 🙂

But I think if you are going to keep this bootstrap styles you will have to add new styles into eventon so that will override these styles.

After several tests, I’ve found the problem…It’s related to Eventype Categories and slug. When I added the slug “spanish”, the style conflict appears.

So I added Spanish as name and spain as slug. Weird..
