Ticket #29900 Public [Closed]

Stop (All day) from appearing

Currently I have alot of “all day” events and a few that have actual times.

The problem I am facing is that the (all day) phrase is irrelevant for conferences since people pretty much know that they are all day, while other events such as webinars have set times and people would like to see them.

Can I have the plugin hide the “time: (all day)” from showing up if an event is an all day event and only show it if it has specific times.

Thanks alot and hope this can be done!

      In myeventon>>>>>languages>>>>general calendar

      you can change the word All day to something else such as

      • See below for times of seminars
      • or just make it a full stop or a dash . or – or ~~~~ or ———
      • See starting time below
      • click here to learn more
      • Multi day
      • Learn More (when clicked it opens up event card)

      a conference may be all day but it probably doesn’t start at 1 AM some days start 7am some start 9am and so on

      You could add css to remove the word but the problem is it does not get rid of the icon (if you got rid of the icon – it would be removed on all events not just the all day events

      .eventon_events_list .eventon_list_event .evcal_desc em.evcal_alldayevent_text {
      display: none;

      add to myeventon>>>>styles

      Hi Dave,

      Thanks for your reply, actually I do want to remove the time icon and data totally.

      The real problem may seem more obvious on my /conferences page, where the word “all day” is repeated 60 times across the 30 conferences that are showing up and it is simply not user friendly at all.

      If I may suggest a couple of work arounds, since already when I leave organizer or location empty, it doesn’t show the data on the event card.

      Are any of these options viable?

      1- Allow me to leave the time slot empty (this way no time would be shown)

      2- Or if an event is all day, treat it as if the time slot is empty and therefore it wouldn’t be shown

      3- Or allow me to add a shortcode to the calendar to stop it from displaying time if I want it to do so.

      1: You want to show times for webinars so what I have done below shows webinar times but not all day event time

      2: that requires custom programing which will cost you more money and time waiting for it to happen

      3: Its not really a short code thing that would require custom programming and if you really want to customize For customization job, please fill up the customization request form and send us a request.

      OK I have gone in and added some css to

      Appearance>>>>customize>>>>additional css

      now a little bit of tidy up

      On the left hand Upcoming webinars-  if you want the time to be in line with the sub tile

      add this to appearance>>>>customize>>>additonal css

      .eventon_events_list .eventon_list_event .evcal_desc .evcal_location, .evo_pop_body .evcal_desc .evcal_location, .eventon_events_list .eventon_list_event .evcal_desc .evcal_time, .evo_pop_body .evcal_desc .evcal_time {
      padding-left: 0;

      and that should level it off and keep it in line with the text above it

      I kind of like on the right hand side the country being a bit lower than the text (otherwise it blends in) I like the fact you can scroll down looking for a particular country (yes I know you can filter but I like it)

      Myeventon>>>>styles doesn’t hold css that well in Avada theme so your the appearance>>>>customize>>>>custom css above to put your custom css- it works better

      if this is no good- simply go into appearance>>>>customize>>>>custom css

      and remove

      .eventon_events_list .eventon_list_event .evcal_desc .evcal_time::before, .evo_pop_body .evcal_desc em.evcal_time::before, .eventon_events_list .eventon_list_event .evcal_desc .evcal_location::before, .evo_pop_body .evcal_desc em.evcal_location::before {
      display: none;

      .eventon_events_list .eventon_list_event .evcal_desc em.evcal_alldayevent_text {
      display: none;

      and let me know how I can fix it

      or if you are super happy and want to help me keep my job I would greatly appreciate if you could kindly leave us a review at codecanyon! from your account > downloads. Cheers!

      Hi Dave,

      Wow, what an amazing response. Thank you very much and I already left a 5 star review mainly commending the support here because you are awesome.

      I love what you did, I think I will change it in language though to a full stop (that would still be hidden I assume), so that search engines wouldn’t think that I am hiding text since it still appears in the source code.

      Regarding my #1 point, I think it would be the easiest for you but I might’ve miss explained it. What I meant was that we would have the option in the backend to leave the time empty (Right now I am have to select a time from 1-12). If the time is empty, then it would be treated the same way as organize/location where if they are empty, they simply don’t show up. However for now I am fine with your modification.

      I really appreciate the input regarding the time below the subtitle, I tested your CSS but I am not sure why it didn’t change it’s position. A question though that I would prefer is, can I have the time show up below the calendar date displayed on the left?

      Thanks alot!

      can I have the time show up below the calendar date displayed on the left?

      hmmmm Possibly:  I am going to have to tweak the css to do so- it might be possible-and I stress might- don’t get your hopes up.  I’ll have to figure out how to do some reverse padding/margin so it goes left and then down just under what is currently displayed but to be honest I don’t think so (sorry) but I will give it a shot for you- it will have to be tomorrow- it’s friday midnight here in Sydney Australia and I have a 10AM start tomorrow so I will try to do it tomorrow evening after I get back from work (this is me www.kidsmagicworld.com.au) from what looks to be a lovely 5 hour drive through a thunderstorm 🙁 to get to my shows. so Please understand I would try now but I have been up since 6am and I gotta give the kids a good show at their birthday. I have bookmarket this topic so will try to do stuff before I leave for the shows

      it did slide the time to the left- you might need to clear your browser cache

      Hey Dave,

      Thank you very much for all your efforts, honestly I am not in a rush at all since I am still working on tweaking the site and in development stages. You can check it out after the weekend if it is a possible thing to be done.

      I wish you a safe trip and I am sure you will put on a great show. Your intro video on your website is hilarious 🙂

      .eventon_events_list .eventon_list_event .evcal_desc, .evo_pop_body .evcal_desc, #page-content p.evcal_desc {
      display: block;
      margin-bottom: 0;
      margin-left: 5px;
      padding: 3px 15px 0 10px;
      top: 0;
      #evcal_list .eventon_list_event .evcal_desc span.evcal_event_title, .eventon_events_list .evcal_event_subtitle {
      line-height: 120%;
      padding-bottom: 3px;
      margin-left: 80px;

      OK I sort of got it to work but as you will see in the screenshot it screwed up the bottom calendars times

      and I could never position it under the left hand date because it was dependent on how much you write in the sub title

      it would require customization from the boss (which would cost money)

      Got it, thanks alot Dave.

      I really appreciate your help. I will try to work around with what you provided and if I am not satisfied, I might go ahead and request customization from the boss 🙂
