We have been using EventOn for several years. Recently the text for the events stopped showing on mobile, it shows on Desktop fine. You can view one of the events here: https://www.hempstaff.com/events/advanced-cannabis-training-webinar
Any suggestions on why this is happening and how to correct?
May 21,2021 AT 7:33AM - 3 years ago -Hi James,
Could you please try the instructions mentioned in this documentation to make sure your issue is indeed coming from eventon. Also, ensure that you are using eventon version 3.1.5, which is the latest version.
Yes, I have tried all 3 … nothing is showing in the Debug, the same issue happens when ALL other plugins are deactivated, and when using default theme, a little more text shows, with the More button – however the More button still does not work to see the rest of the test.
Hi James,
It seems that you are using a very outdated version of eventon. Please update to the latest version.
To update eventon to latest version: If you are unable to do autoupdate, you can go to codecanyon your account > download and get the latest eventon version as zip file. Then you can go to your website, deactivate old eventon, activate (Do not delete eventon settings & data when EventON is uninstalled) from eventon settings, delete old eventon, install new one and activate. This link will further explain the process it. Also you can follow us on twitter to get real-time announcements on updates!
Ensure that you are also using the latest version of the eventon addons. You can check from here https://www.myeventon.com/latest-versions-of-addons/
To update eventon addons: You can download latest eventon addons from myeventon > my account. Then you can go to your website, deactivate old addon and install new one and activate then delete the old addon. This link will further explain the process. Also you can follow us on twitter to get real-time announcements on updates!
I just upgraded and the now the page no longer works on Desktop OR Mobile…
I have reverted back for now, so the text can be read on Desktop at least. Please advise next troubleshooting steps.
Hey James,
Could you please also share access for us?
Are you working on this site? Did you get the information I sent?
Hello,
You need to update EventON to 3.1.6 and Event Lists: Ext add-on to 0.21. After, if you still see the issue, you need to follow the instructions in this documentation to activate debug in your site to see any PHP errors recorded that can provide insight on to whats going on. Please reply with a link to debug.log file. If you are not able to do this please send us FTP access to your site so we can do this for you.
You can also try removing this custom CSS code:
There is no need to update plugins. Just remove the code and it should solve the issue.
Hi there,
Do you need anything else from us, or you are good and covered here?
If yes, If you have a moment, we would greatly appreciate if you could kindly leave us a review at codecanyon! from your account > downloads. Cheers!
Thank you!
Yes, I still need your help. You have been less than helpful so far, you basically have been making me do all the work, which I have little time for, hence the reason I purchased this support. I should have time this week, if I do not then I will just find a different app that works better than EventOn, as I do not have time to keep upgrading/downgrading per your request.
EventON and add-ons must always be updated to latest versions, since they already have fixes you need.
In your case you don’t need to update them as I said in Reply to: 239624
Just remove this custom code: https://helpdeskx.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/26110154/Screenshot-2021-05-26-at-20.01.29.jpg. Did you add it?
Thank you! However, I do not see this code listed anywhere, a previous developer may have added it. Do you know where in the Dashboard or what file this code lives in?
I found the code in Custom CSS in our Theme – removed it, but it did not correct the issue. Please advise
Maybe you theme has some kind of cache?
Hmm.. is there someplace it may be in EventOn, outside the Theme Code?
Could you please try the instructions mentioned in this documentation? Please start with switching the theme.
I found the code in nav.css and removed it, however it did not correct the issue. Are you still seeing that code?
…also you are once again asking me to do something I already tried. The website simply does not work with a default theme, there is too much customization – and the issue still occurs with EVERY other plug deactivated.
I commented the code from https://www.hempstaff.com/wp-admin/customize.php?return=%2Fwp-admin%2Fthemes.php
Please check and let us know:
Yes, this worked! Thank you so much for your help!!
